Friedel is about to sign for Spurs on a two year deal as 1st choice. we won't match that. If we were buying from this country I would say Robinson.

As above, if we're getting someone from England then Robinson makes sense.

Out of that list i'd go for Robinson. Green and Foster have too much of Carson about them for me. Given is a bit ring rusty, good shot stopper, but doesnt command the area enough, and with our back four we need someone who can be commanding.

Anyone every noticed that we sell or release an entire playing squad every summer before we even contemplate replacing players.  Meanting that more than likely we will pay top dollar when we do decide to make a move in the market.

Out of the list I'd say Robinson too. How much do we reckon Blackburn will be asking for him though?
Given is the only other I would take, but as with any citeh player, the wages will be an issue. A splendid goalkeeper though, who should leave that place and resurrect his career. I'm sure he has enough money by now!

Its amazing really, you could easily come to the conclusion that you have a whole squad of players in the blocks waiting for the starting pistol and "bang", They're of......

Robinson or Foster..

Green makes some real errors of judgement for me.

If players are not very good there is no point in giving them new contracts just so we save money replacing them. Especially when they were so shit that nobody will be willing to pay us for them. See for example Pires, Salifou and Osbourne. Contracts expire on the 31st of May so we have to release them by then if we don't want to give them new deals.

Also, how can we keep players who let their contracts expire as seems to be the case with NRC or Friedel. Both of them played pretty much every game last season and the club made noises about extending their deals. Neither seems to have had sensible demands or possibly even been willing to sign new deals. Friedel didn't even make the released list indicating that he had been made an offer and was weighing up his options.

As for selling players: What can we do? If Man Yoo or City offer us huge amounts for a player who wants to leave they will leave. Anything else is largely impractical. Have we ever sold a player who doesn't want to leave or has not gone for a dizzying offer elsewhere without replacing them. Have we sold anyone I've missed?

Besides we will probably lose as much on the sell on value of a player we have replaced without selling as we will have had to have paid extra for a new player if we'd sold them earlier.

Why Brad Friedel is in strong demand ? I can't understand that.

Because he's a good goal keeper? The only issue is that he's a bit old. Some of the criticism of him on here this season has been over the top and he has saved us quite a few points. Any goalkeeper would struggle with our defenders in front of him.

My thoughts exactly. I'd be happy for him to stay. We're not going to match a two year contract though so good luck to him.
