I'm just guessing that somebody that he referred to as 'the lad' probably wasn't a high ranking member of the marketing team.And yes, maybe he was talking to somebody high up, but if (as his post suggested) he was just chatting to one of the floor or till staff then there's no reason that they would need potentially weeks in advance who is making the products that they are putting on the shelves or ringing through the checkout.
