Its gonna pour down with rain when Mcclaren gets confirmed as Villa boss , with him smiling and getting his brolly out , outside bodymoor speaking in a brummie accent .      What a horrid thought.

Even Ian Taylor has been stating how much Ancellotti would be his choice of manager. He is an ambassador to the club and i am sure he would be letting Lerner/Faulkner know that Maclaren would be seen as a "nightmare" choice to our fans despite some success with Twente. After seeing the backlash from some fans over some parts of last season concerning Houlliers appointment. He surely now realises that the fans acceptance of a manager is crucial and the polls and opinions show that Ancellotti is overwhelmingly the man we want ........

Makes no odds if Ancellotti doesn't want us.

I'd hope the club would distance themselves from CA in the same way they did with Hughes if that was the case.

It would kill all the snowballing speculation.

I'm on the Forest Of Arden trail right now, mate is UK sales Director for Marriott...........expect to be disappointed in the next 30 minutes.

As supsected, albeit 3 hours later, no Ancelotti's, Corleone's, Giovanni's or Trappatoni's at Forest Of Arden.  Maybe he was at the Travel Tavern with Cockpiss Partridge.

I agree. I think he'll wait for a year then take the Spurs job when Redknapp takes over from Capello.

Edit - Just seen the article on 365 with quotes from Carlo himself - he's definately taking a year off.

When was that quote from and to whom was it given?

A lot can change if you drop £3m in someone's lap.

Wasn't there a clause with Chelski that he could not go to a prem side within twelve months.

Unlikely because he was sacked. So it would be illegal.

"I am in no hurry to coach and I don't need to" he's quoted as saying.

Well after his Chelsea experience and with all that money, you can't blame him. Unlike McLaren etc he's of the stature he doesn't have to tart himself around, he can wait until he's approached. Opportunity will come knocking eventually.

How does Al Capone feel about a crack at the hot seat or even Al Pacino.....even Robert deNiro, Ref: "are you looking at me", "are you looking at me" "I'm looking at you", "are you looking at me".

You shouldn't be too surprised. The Board are in no hurry - Lerner is still in the States.
