I see your point hawkeye, Downing is a tart, but he was more of an outlet today than AYoung.

Although i would say that AYoung did a lot of support today for LYoung. We will miss his workrate.

Young's pass for the goal was sublime.

Had Fabregas played today and made that pass we'd still be watching replays of it.

I'll be honest, I still am.

Completely one-eyed view from the pair of you. Both did their jobs today, which was to drop back when we lost the ball, and we lost so much that they were auxiliary full backs for much of the time. They did their job and worked their arses off.

Some pride restored with a great result and a good performance - Formby cricket club didn`t know what hit it when VCTM, VCTM jnr, Mrs VCTM and Ms VCTM were jumping up and down at the final whistle.  Come on you Lions !!

Well would you adam and blinking eve it.

Where did the passion come from ?.

Fair play to all involved , it was great today.

Freidal proved he should get another contract, he shouldn't be automatic chloice as now (basicallyllin , he plays) but he should be allowed to hold the shirt and keep it until he drops performances - and in fact, he has got better as the season has gone on.

Dunne and Collins through themselves nto every challenge - yeah they were lucky on a few decisions, but deserved it

Walker was immense, both attacking and defending , and looked the player we bought. Luke Young challenged everything and won everything

Petrov and Reo Coker controlled midfield - won everything, NRC expecially. Petrov was clearly hurt from about 65 mins but battled on until it got too bad.

Delph got caught a few times, but on the other hand, created a lot - can't understand why he hasnt been given a chance this season. Everyone I know has said since about January our midfield should be todays - so again, you have to question the management of why it hasn't been.

Downing was our most dangerous threat and was superb.

A Young battled harder than I have ever saw (however, the cynic in me thinks he was tryingo impress Capello and Wenger

Bent - well !!! - 4 yrs I wanted him and he ain't disappointed. The guy is the best forward we have had since McInally and I can't wait to see the next few years with him.

McCallister - I don't like the bloke but fair play today, got selection right, got tactics right, got substitutions right and made at right time.

Overall , a cracking day, and we can now enjoy a party on the Holte listening to the Alliance going back to where they belong

I'm over the moon what a performance brilliant I thought we were awesome it was a pleasure to watch us today Darren Bent what a goalscorer I thought Downing, Delph, and NRC played really well and Ashley Young who covered His full back brilliantly had another good game the defence where also brilliant repelling Arsenal second half fightback and to cap it all off I had Darren Bent for first goalscorer at 8/1 happy days roll on Liverpool.

Could today have gone any better? Only with the addition of Pippa Middleton and a jar of Nutella when I got home.

You'd turn her lesbian too though, and that would be a waste!

Although Youngs pass was good, the best was from Walker to Bent for the first. Also liked either Walkers or Collins FK to Young which lead to the 2nd goal as well.

NRC battled his balls off.

Yeah, That's the swashbuckling midfield general we wall hoped we were getting 4 seasons back, If only he could maintain it, great performance today, hope it's not just his usual flash in the pan to strengthen his contracts bargaining position.

Everyone of the team battled for this result, and fair play, they aren't the best team out there but this was a classic example of body on the line defending, combined with an excellent discipline and positional awareness. A great example for the underdog.
