When I turned 30, and I had to make a wish after blowing out the candles on my cake, the first thing that popped into me head was 'survival'. Next year, I'm wishing for Angelina Jolie.

Bent - well !!! - 4 yrs I wanted him and he ain't disappointed. The guy is the best forward we have had since McInally and I can't wait to see the next few years with him.

Since Dublin and then Yorke maybe before Alan Mc.

Great 20-25 minutes, thought we played very, very well. Two up, sat back, rode our luck and understandably so. Would like to see what we are capable of with a few new additions and the confidence to keep going at teams...great result, sleep easy, have a good old laugh next week and see what the close season brings.

Bent, priceless. If Arsenal would have had him they would have run the title close.

NRC battled his balls off.

Yeah, That's the swashbuckling midfield general we wall hoped we were getting 4 seasons back, If only he could maintain it, great performance today, hope it's not just his usual flash in the pan to strengthen his contracts bargaining position.

Well he kept up his record of never being on the losing side against the Arse. We missed a trick there in November.

Ash Young's 10th booking today, wasn't it?
He has played his last game for Villa, methinks.

I predicted us getting a real tonking.  Dinner tonight will be a starter of humble pie followed by a main course of my hat.
Same here, I am gladly warming up my words.
Great win... Bent really is worth every penny.
Yep me too - fantastic result.

The luck that has been absent all season came back today and about time.

Great first 15, then a backs to the wall performance, credit to the stand in manager but we still need a new manager next season.

And, for once, credit to the players, including Ashley Young who spent the whole game working for the team and less time diving and moaning.

There's a great team there, all we need is a great manager.

They had an amnesty on yellow cards back in March, so he will be available next week.

I stand corrected, thank you.

How many of those haven't been for diving or dissent? I'll have a guess a none.

You  can never trust these players can you? They just don't do what is necessary. I mean today I had £10 at 7/2 for a draw and they go and win! Tut tut

Anyone remember that Dr bloke (the arsenal fan who was slagging us off a couple of seasons ago)?
Wonder what he made of todays result then?

Oh, I don't know, I had a fiver on us to win at 7/1

Us finishing mid-table or thereabouts really shows you just how rank the league has been this year when you bear in mind how awful we have been
