I dont go over the top in praise for many players but Darren Bent is fucking brilliant. He is so clever, right on the shoulder of the last defender all the time.Have to admit, wasnt too excited when we bought him but fuck me the lad knows where the net is,set a midfield up to supply him and we could be right back up there next season.

Good luck Blackpool and Spurs next week

perhaps even more so than Marcus Allback!

Ashley Young threw his shirt into the crowd. Hmmm... ManUre beckons

TBH that was a given from about October. Although did any other players do the shirts for the very good away following this season considering the amount of wins they had seen?

does it miss next weeks game .. think it was 10 yellows now

I don't think so because of an amnesty, as some have mentioned. Although I checked the PL stats page and it says he's on 7.

Freidel - 8 - Faultless
Walker - 8 - excellent - sign him ( in young deal )
Young - 7.5 - very good , keep him next season
Dunne - 6.5 - ok , they should have had a pen and distribution at times was poor.
Collins - 7.5 -Very good today , got stuck in .
A Young - 7 - quiet game , worked hard , good assist
Petrov - 6 - Faded ..
Delph - 6.5 - got caught in first half at times but better in second half , needs to start next game
NRC - 8 - thought he had a good solid game , broke up arse  play
Downing - 7.5-  worked hard but made the odd wrong pass
Bent - 10- MOTM    18 million is a absolute bargain. Best english striker in a Villa shirt, makes me proud .  I will always remember Houlier for getting this man
Bradley - 5.75 - looked ok to me , even thou I kept thinking he was Collins
Heskey   6 -  just for not getting sent off

I predicted us getting a real tonking.  Dinner tonight will be a starter of humble pie followed by a main course of my hat.

Set a place at the table for me please.

Count me in too. Its gonna be crowded around yours tonight.

I'm over the moon what a performance brilliant I thought we were awesome it was a pleasure to watch us today Darren Bent what a goalscorer I thought Downing, Delph, and NRC played really well and Ashley Young who covered His full back brilliantly had another good game the defence where also brilliant repelling Arsenal second half fightback and to cap it all off I had Darren Bent for first goalscorer at 8/1 happy days roll on Liverpool.
I agree.

What a fantastic result!

I was expecting the worst but that was pleasantly surprised by both the performance and the result. After all the stresses and strains of worrying about relegation I can relax and finally enjoy game number 38.

A dog shit season is nearly over but Darren Bent has been a real bright spark and looking forward to his contribution in claret and blue for many years to come

Up the Villa!

Brilliant result, although we were almost outrageously lucky at times!

I thought there were enough snippets to get us excited for next year.

Friedel - very steady, definitely worth a new contract.
Walker - I thought he was absolutely outstanding.
Collins and Dunne - both lionhearts, Collins a bad mistake for the goal and Dunne lucky not to concede a penalty. Got beaten over the top at least 4 times in the first half and I'd absolutely still get someone pacier in to play alongside one or the other of them. I don't think Clark is ready.
L Young - excellent.
NRC - thought he was superb all game and a nightmare to play against.
Petrov - very good first half, faded a bit but his experience told.
Delph - I don't understand some of the criticism at all. He did fade in and out but I thought there were several moments of real class. My spurs mate thought he looked class. For his 3rd start of the season I thought he was very good.
Downing - a real threat, but poor final ball on several occasions today.
A Young - really good pass for the goal. Worked very hard.
Bent - excellent finishes.

Bradley - I actually thought he did pretty well and would be tempted to see him against Liverpool.

I'd like to think the 4-3-3 was the way fwd for next season. We'd need someone to replace AY - Albrighton won't be able to do it every game. And we'd need a better goalscoring threat from central midfield too.

We needed  a satisfaction, one of the few of the season.:)
Well done Villa, UTV.

But we must not deceive ourselves, it's too easy with the  "ramshackle" Arsenal that we saw today, the impression is that their players were playing against their own manager.
On a hilarious note,  with Richard Dunne in action it's quite sure that you can't keep a clean sheet. The way he marked van Persie is simply ridiculous.

Richard Dunne, a couple of mistakes aside was immense today. Not sure what game you watched.

Not sure how you can consider immense  a central defender "a couple of mistakes aside".

This is his problem though. He was commited and threw himself at everything, but then again he could of cost us two goals, should have been sent off and he should have given away a penalty. I respect him for his performance today, but he has had it at the top IMO.

Great first-half performance, we were a bit sloppy second-half but brave defending earned us the win. VERY HAPPY WITH TODAY.  Well deserved win for us, would have been better if Sky could of muted all the moany Arsenal supporters.

Not a bad record at the Emirates eh? ;)

Now taken more points at the Emirates than any other team?
Probably not as many as Arsenal have.
