I can't remember what I paid last year. I think it was £395. Oh well, I can live with £405 in The Holte wings.

I've just received the equivalent of half a tree through my door giving me all the exciting news of benefits of my increased price season ticket if I renew. I'm all for keeping local printers in business but do I really need to receive 12 photos showing me what other Villa fans look like?
Along with all the other crap being thrown in I read that one of the NEW features of my BRAND NEW season ticket will be that "throughout the season, you will also have exclusive inside news sent to you by email from the club management and training ground staff." Can't wait to see what that is!!!
Who the f**k let marketing graduates get involved in football?

I'm pretty happy, AVTV is a fantastic service (although I don't pay for it currently). £440 for me (student, lower Holte).

Me and my cousin aren't bothering next season, we sit in L4 row LL just to the right of the goal. Decent seats, but plenty of idiots around that don't have a clue and do my head in. Starting to play myself again on a Saturday now so would more than likely miss half of the games anyway.

Will still go to a few though, the games that they have deals for and the derbies.

We are never going to compete financially with those clubs who bring in far more through ticket sales. ManU or Arsenal put up ticket prices knowing that if a season ticket holder doesn't renew, then there's a waiting list of fans to take their place.

What about Spurs, Everton, Sunderland etc?

As Paulie says above, prices for football in this country are ridiculously high but within that ours are among the best.

Spurs have a big waiting list too. That's why they're looking to move to a much bigger stadium. Everton's gates are down roughly by the same amount as ours this season. The league table tells me that we are competing with Sunderland and their gates are on average 600 down on last season even though they've performed better.

Just reading through the list of benefits. It's fluff and padding isn't it? OK, you get AVTV. The chance to see Watisname Woodward, crap from Gerard Houllier and regular 'battle cry' interviews with Petrov and Stuart Downing.

DeKuip - I think you're being a bit over the top in your annoyance about this.  Yes we'd all like season ticket prices to be lower but the Villa can't do anything about that.  If you want to pay less, go and watch Sutton Coldfield Town (£80 for a season ticket I think!).  If you want to watch a Premier League team then you have to pay the going rate for Premier League football.  The Villa had the 4th lowest season ticket prices in the Premier League this year (http://www.footballfancast.com/2010/06/football-blogs/premier-league-season-ticket-prices-a-tad-unfair) so it's hardly unreasonable for them to increase them.  Bear in mind also that inflation is running at 4-5% and there was a 2.5% increase in VAT.  A 6.5%-7.5% increase is basically keeping income in line with the clubs base costs therefore; ie before increases in player salaries, improvements to the stadium, etc, etc.

And yes, the stuff in the welcome pack is almost certainly tat but at least the club have done something rather than just go, "Here's your increase - deal with it".

Has anyone seen any matchday prices for next season?  I'm trying to work out how many games on silly days or at silly times you can afford to miss before the season ticket is worthless!!!

Stupid question, but is Witton Lane Upper (P6) going to be £580 for an adult? I ask because it says up to £790 when I hover the mouse over P6.

Tim, I think the £790 ,is for "Adult & Junior Combo"

Another comparison - season ticket for Kidderminster Harriers is £228 standing/£278 seated, so an extra £242 (about £12.50 a game) for me to watch 19 Premier League games instead of 23 non-league games doesn't seem over the top to be fair

But they receive more income through higher prices, as VD shows below.

The prices are a bastard, no two ways about it, but that's the world we are in.

Thinking about the AVTV free thing what if like my best mate you don't have Internet access how does he benefit from that. As i said earlier why not 25 - 50% off next seasons shirt as that is a benefit for everyone plus would help possible sponsors as more people would buy the shirt, whereas free AVTV is only a benefit for people with internet access which isn't everyone.

I'm not sure that we should meekly accept that our tickets continue rising on the ticket price escalator. If we do accept it, we are entitled to ask what they are doing about commercial revenue, which is the area of the club that isn't contributing as it should.
