Turning this around...

Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London don't have league teams bearing their name.

Off the top of my head I'm struggling to think of any other major European city not represented in a league team's name apart from Lisbon.
Are Sporting Lisbon just known as Sporting? Or something like that? I've always refered to them as Sporting Lisbon.
Sporting Club de Portugal according to Wikipedia, I had no idea.

Never trust Wiki, it's Sporting Clube de Portugal.

We also have Beira Mar from Aveiro (worst designed new staduim ever. Google it)
Maritimo (Madeira)
Nacional (Funchal, Madeira)
Acedemica (Coimbra)
Naval Figueiro de Foz)
Rio Ave (Vila do Conde)

Isn't there a club in Argentina called Independentes?

Edinburgh City FC. You see them turn up in the early stages of Scottish cup sometimes.

Juventus may not be a place but Turin is. Which is where the name Torino comes from.

So is Crystal Palace a permanent place (apart from possibly being an underground station)?

And me.

Romulus is a place, or, at least was a place that I and a few others on here frequented during the late 70's  when the team Romulus was formed.  I don't know if it has any connection to the football team but can't see any other reason why a team from Sutton Coldfield should be called so.

Deportivo Wanka are located in the city of Huancayo, Peru. They are named after the previous inhabitants of the area, the Wankas.

Look it up if you don't believe me.

QPR play in a mush in Shepherds Bush bush bush bush
No income tax, no vat
The Trotters were from Peckham I think.  Shepherds Bush was the home of the Steptoes.

According to Wikki it's only us auslanders who refer to them as that.  Their correct name is BSC Young Boys....Berner Sport Club Young Boys.
