Celtic
Rangers

They're actual names are Glasgow Rangers and Glasgow Celtic so don't count.

No they're not.  Yes they do.

Boca Juniors? River Plate?

Boca is a region of Buenos Aires.

The Río de la Plata (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈri.o ðe la ˈplata], River of Silver)—sometimes rendered River Plate in British English and the Commonwealth, and occasionally rendered [La] Plata River in other English-speaking countries—is the river and estuary formed by the confluence of the Uruguay River and the Paraná River on the border between Argentina and Uruguay. It is a funnel-shaped indentation on the southeastern coastline of South America, about 290 kilometres (180 mi) long.

(There is also a team called River Plate in Uruguay).

Partick play in Firhill having left Partick in 1908. So they were named after a place, but no longer play there.

Ross County play in Dingwall. Ross and Cromarty is a 'registration council' (whatever that is) of Scotland, so still a place.

Well Chelsea actually play in Fulham and Fulham play in Putney (although the H&S borough) if the thread was to include teams that don't play where there name is then those 2 could be in it.  Come to think of it, so would we if we'd stayed in Perry Barr.

Fulham do play in Fulham - Putney is on the other side of the river! You are correct to say that Chelsea also play in Fulham.

Someone else mentioned Millwall. Millwall is a suburb of the Isle of Dogs and it's where the club was based until it moved to South London. Millwall's (the suburb) other claim to fame it that it was the first place in the country to elect a BNP councillor!

Without checking isn't West Hams location a bit dubious as well.

They play in Upton Park, Newham. West Ham is a nearby part of Newham. While still called "Thames Ironworks" they were invited into, and won, the West Ham Cup so may have decided to rename themselves on that basis.

Ross County are located in the small town of Dingwall, population a little over 5,000. Yet they take on the name of a enormous region that stretches across from one side of Scotland to the other.

I stand corrected. Not sure why I thought that.
