Superb bowling performance.
Anderson cant bowl in one dayers? My arse.

Cook currently taking the Sri Lankan bowlers apart as well.

Dave..........he is our best bowler by a mile in any form of cricket but I would prefer him to be rested for the ODI's/20-20 and  saved for the test matches so we can have him fresh and rested

But while he's centrally contracted he's not playing that much cricket, he'd be playing far more if he was back at his county this summer. I'd be in favour of him being rested for some of the ODI's during the winter but he's not exactly being overworked at the moment.

They playing a second spinner mate? Old Trafford tends to spin a bit.

Broad has been dropped.

What? Where?
It wouldn't surprise me but I haven't seen it anywhere.

Telegraph

Saying it's because of a "bruised heel".

Yeah, that is strange.

It was basically saying that he was being dropped to bring in a second spinner or Bopara for his cutters and the reason being given is a bruised heel. He'd be going back to Notts to play for them to get some form before the test against India in 12 days time.

And he'd probably play more limited overs cricket than 4 day in that time. I've not checked the fixtures but there are still 2 or 3 T20 to be played then the championship/CB40 will kick in. Potentially one 4 day game to be played. These central contracts have many advantages but there are some drawbacks.

Patel in. There's hope for me if someone that out of shape can get a game!

Well, The Torygraph were right then, but obviously England wanted to wait for the news to come out.
Don't mind Patel having a shot, he has worked on his fitness and there is talent there.

Knowing now that the Telegraph were going to pull the article, I'd have just pretended to be ITK!

Cracking opening 10 overs from England.
