Woakes 7 for 20 and now 64 not out.  What a cricketer he is.

Remains to be seen whether he cements a place in the England side; there's several in front of him at the moment, so it might take him a few years.

It might be that he doesn't quite make it, in which case he'll break all sorts of records for Warwickshire.

ETA.  Jinxed it.  Run out for 64.

Somerset bowled out for 177 so no batting points for them.

Pears are 116 for 2, needing another 213 to beat Lancs, so they've got an outside chance.

COME ON YOU PEARS! (that felt a little dirty)

It's going to be an interesting days cricket at Edgbaston, Blackpool and Taunton tomorrow. Fingers crossed that the Bears get a result and that Worcester and Notts help us out by winning their respective games.

Might pop along to Edgbaston for a couple of hours tomorrow morning.

Hampshire 163 - 4 at the close. That effectively puts them on 54 - 4. Big day for the Bears tomorrow.

Worcestershire 203 - 5 at the close, they need another 126 to win. They lost Solanki in the last half hour which is a blow to their hopes of pulling off a victory.

5 down now for Hampshire. Trott and Woakes in England team for match against Ireland so won't be able to play for the Bears against Yorkshire. I take it we won't be allowed to pick Bell?

It depends if he is picked in the one day squad. If he's not then Bell will turn out for the Bears if the ECB grant permission. He'll turn out for the Bears whenever he can especially when we're going for the title.

Bears finally bowled out Hants for 416, leaving us a daunting target of 308.

Even more daunting now that we're 30 for 6.

Chopra 18
Westwood 0
Porterfield 0
Chanderpaul 0
Troughton 0
Ambrose 0

Christ almighty.

All out for 98.  That's bad enough but to be bowled out in less than 40 overs is a very poor effort.

We've been better this season but the batting frailties are still very much there.
