Neal Abberley the ex-Bears coach and latter mentor to Ian Bell has died.

http://www.edgbaston.com/news/neal-abberley/

A fitting tribute would be for Belly to score a ton in the Edgbaston test. No Bears player has ever scored a ton in an Edgbaston test.
I'm a Pears supporter, one of the few in this forum, but I do like Ian Bell, partly because he's a fine batsman and partly because he's a Villa fan. He wrote this handsome tribute to Neal Abberley in today's Evening Standard: LINK

Good news that Durham lost to Hampshire, that leaves us 17 points behind them with 2 games in hand....We need to beat
Hampshire @ Edgbaston next week

Yep, asking him to hit the ground running, a name I've heard but can't say I remember seeing him play though.  Ajmal has just started to really come good like Shakib last year.

We need to win and win well. The points deduction from earlier in the season could be offset by clocking up a few more bonus points.

Bears on telly now. Nothing on the game but hopefully we can take some form into the Championship games. Chanderpaul debuts too.

Christ we were shit but I put that down to the fact that the match was meaningless for the Bears.

141 all out, good performance from Woakes who returned figures of 14.4 - 3 - 20 - 7

Career best figures for another cricketing Villa fan.

Westwood gone, making it 11 wickets in less than two sessions.  I can feel a pitch report coming,
