Villa getting relegated in the same season as Birmingham winning a trophy is what nightmares are made of.

Blackpool, Wigan, Villa.  It's heartbreaking to say it but we are doomed.

I said it here a month ago that this season 'could' see Blues win a cup, Spurs win the European cup and us relegated - didn't believe it could happen then, starting to wonder now.

I was very downbeat yesterday but my predictions today result in the following point tallies:

West Ham 43
Wolves 42
Villa 40 (wins against Ncastle and Wigan and a draw against Stoke)
Blues 40
West Brom 39
Blackpool 38
Blackburn 36 (a hellish run awaits them)
Wigan 36

Wigan, West Brom, Blackpool

I've felt for a while we'll be involved going into the final game or so, and see no reason to alter that.

We will be OK, ultimately. But that will be because of the shiteness of others, rather than any major upturn in our fortunes. We just need to continue our mediocre> poor form from the turn of the year. But worse than that -anything similar to Sunderland and Wolves yesterday-  and all bets are off.

We'll get two wins from the remaining games before we play Arsenal and Liverpool, making us all but safe. Then a defeat at Arsenal (possibly a heavy one too) will put us back in it.

We'll be sweating on the final game but other results will save us.

Why doesn't it?

"Not being relegated" isn't necessarily enough for people to want to keep him here.

I think we will go down.
Every time there is an anniversary we seem to be out of the top flight.
74-75 centenary season division 2
1988 the leagues centenary season division 2.
This year 100 years in the top flight might not be in it next season.

Wigan, Blackburn and us Im afraid.

Wigan I feel are the poorest side in the division.
Us and Blackburn seem to have the least fight and the least likely to pull a surprise result out the bag somewhere.

I would say it is almost impossible to predict this season.   The ones to go down will those who dont have the stomach to fight for every point every game.   Lady luck will also play her part. The last 10 mins of the last day's games will be like no other.

I would go for Wigan + 2.  Just pray we are not one of the 2.
