I really can't see us being that bad again, which was a result of the festering boil in our dressing room.

We've mostly been that bad all season, if not worse.  I really can see us being that bad again, starting at Everton.

No, we haven't and especially not at home. Yesterday hit new depths.

I'd argue that Sunderland at home was on a par with yesterday, if not worse. We have been mediocre most of the season though, with one or two exceptions.

I thought at the time that Sunderland at home was absolutely terrible, and I didn't buy that "if Heskey could finish, we'd have got something" line, either, but yesterday was worse, in my opinion.

You often get teams who should be safe but suddenly nosedive themselves into the party from a position of relative strength. Right now ouselves, Small Heath, Blackpool and Blackburn look strong candidates. I'd say Blackburn have been even worse than us over the course of the last couple of months. Small Heath's fate will be decided on how well they cope with the injuries they have. We, on the other hand, will win all remaining 8 games at a canter*, Blackpool will be ok as long as Gollum keeps his gob shut.

Eqully there are teams that have been shite all season but suddenly find a vein of form and pull clear against the odds.  Smethwick, Wolves and West Ham seem to be doing this at present, but need to keep on doing it. The odds are against all three getting away with it, one of them will revert to type. Depsite their win yesterday, I thought Wolves looked pretty ropey.

Then there are teams that spend almost the entire season in and around the bottom three, without ever looking capable of getting any higher. That seems to be Wigan.

Blackburn, Wolves and Wigan for me.

*It is possible that this may not actually happen.

Incidentally, I wouldn't be too comfortable if I were a Newcastle fan, either.

Since the middle of January, they've taken 8 of 27 league points. That's worse than us.

Plus they've sold their only decent striker and are relying on Leon Best to put them away.

Our match against them is an important match.

Their next two games are at home to Wolves then Villa Park. Two bad results could indeed drop them in it.

Everton could be key in this:

Us and Blackburn at home and
Wolves, Wigan, West Brom away.

Mind you they nearly fecked up when me and VCTM jnr went to see them play Small Heath

Blackburn, Wigan and Blackpool, it'll go down to the last game for 5 or 6 teams though, including us.

Hmmm, not good when you see quite a lot of Villa fans sayng we'll get relegated... makes me even more worried.

I don't think I could take a Survival Sunday. It'd be far too much for me. We need to be safe by the Arsenal game then we can pop champagne.

Hardly a reason to open the Champers, eh Situ? What's a suitable drink for pure fucking relief? (It's vodka if we go down, by the way.)

Nah, after that debacle yesterday it's really smacked me in the face that relegation is a very realistic propersition now. Even if we'd only got 1 point yesterday I wouldn't have this sinking feeling inside of me and it'd be 1 point closer to safety. Right now I'll be really happy if we stay up. Relief. Start the summer feeling good. Get ready for a better season next season etc...

This has been a crazy season but now it's turning into a nightmare. I look at the fixtures left and you'd think we'd be able to beat Newcastle, Stoke and Wigan all at home, but you know deep down it probably isn't realisitic that we're going to win all 3. I don't like how we're making this harder for ourselves...

Absinthe for me. I think I might buy a few cases to get me through the next season too.

I had convinced myself we'd be relegated after the Bolton game.

Just done the predictor on BBC. There are so many games between the teams at the bottom, it might help us stay up. I've seen some highlights of games this weekend. The other teams may have a bit more fight than us, but they can't defend any better than us.

I went for defeats vs. Everton, Newcastle, Stoke, Liverpool and Arsenal, draws vs. West Ham and WBA, and a win at home to Wigan. We stay up on goal difference.

Bottom 3:

Wigan
Blackburn
Blose
5 points won't save us.
