Matt Kendrick reckons that Mcleish sees adding a creative midfielder to the squad as more important than a right back now. I imagine that would be someone who could play in a 2, which I'm not sure Bannan or Ireland can.

Really don't quite see who that's likely to be if we have very little money. Maybe a loan signing? The only one I can really think of is Jenas in the EPL

Or he might be thinking of a proper number 10, but can we really afford anyone better than Ireland / Bannan. Benayoun perhaps on loan?

I accept responsibility of not knowing rules there so sorrie about that. Can i please comment that others have not observed rules by being judegmental and not so nice towards me. I think warning others too in interest of fairness.
I dont understand as i would not create threads on villa formation and spend such time on here so acqusations and questionning totally uncalled for.
I just focus on giving comment and debating when necessary.

You don't exactly help yourself, but don't take it to heart, you'll learn to accept the snobbery on this forum in time.

I still think there is a chance that Adam Johnson Or Daniel Sturridge could be made available for the season on loan. Either of those would fit into our current squad nicely.

No chance on getting Sturridge, I reckon he'll have an important part to play at Chelsea this season.

Yes, the only reason he hasn't been involved so far is he's suspended.

Very much hoping that AMC has some surprises in store.

I'm liking the links to both Kayal and Ki-Seung Yeung at Celtic. Maybe a good excuse to ship out Ireland.

OUT - Cuellar (Rangers), Makoun (Olympiakos), Ireland (Celtic)

IN - Hutton, Dann, Ki, Kayal

Optimistic? Sadly yes.

How long do we have to suffer this imbecile? He's obviously a troll.

There seems to be a bunch of them around at the moment and it's turning this site into a depressing place to be.

Talking of creative midfielders i would say that is for the 3 of the 4-2-3-1 hopefully a central attacking one. Players who are also flexible on either wings so shouts ofd johnson and sturridge wold be amazing. I think its best to take on idea this is formattion we use so players which could fit in would benefit.

In regards to sturridge i think malouda anelka kalou and now mata are ahead of him in pecking order so maybe there is a chance.
Citys johnson would be wondering how much game time he will be getting so also reasonable to think a loan move for him. Howver i think it was previously stated him and milner were not going anywhere

I think the planning and timing of all this is pathetic. Selling players now is crazy with two days to go before the window closes. There's no guarantee of replacements with all the other clubs scrambling around for players. Welcome to the the new Randy Lerner era! He hasn't got a clue.

So, he says how one problem is our lack of experience in central midfield, fine, won't disagree. He then goes and sells one of our two experienced midfield players? Sorry, wrong answer.

I hope he's joking. Bannan, Delph, Makoun and Ireland (if he gets his arse in gear) can all play as a creative midfielder. What we need is someone good enough to let one of them go create and cover the back 4, the role that Petrov is doing very badly at the moment.

who needs a right back when we have 9 men behind the ball?

i dont want to go into the season with lichaj and herd as our "right backs"...

its going to be another clusterfuck of a season...

When do we put 9 men behind the ball? I can think of only one scenario in a game, that being from a corner.
