If you recieve a bid you wont accept, you reject it. It hasnt been. Therefore however reluctant he might be to accept, it must be at least acceptable.

If you ask me  they're just thrashing the details out and the bid will be officially accepted soon enough (and has probably unoffically been accepted). Probably to do with future fees, add ons and all that bollocks.

will be revealed as undisclosed fee, you can bet on that

Yes, no doubt. That's just how "we roll". There isnt really any value in announcing the price. It wont necessarily mean we've compromised though.

Hmmm, just read an interview with Steve Bruce on Teamtalk where he rules Sunderland out of buying N'Zogbia as he's too expensive - seems to be suggesting wage demands too. Newcastle in the same boat, apparently, and we know Everton aren't involved. So I'd say Wigan don't have too many options right now.

I mean with Nzogbia why fuck about with 9 million instead of 10?

The longer it goes on the less chance we have of signing him.

Welcome to VP Aiden.

How do you work this out?
We're the only club in for him, our bid is therefore the highest and has not been rejected and Wigan won't keep him beyond this window. They need to sell him.

Stop being a drama queen.

Drama queen because I dare critisize our quite frankly shit way of doing business.

You keep on thinking we are going to sign Parker, dann etc etc

Does anyone know if Vargas played against us in that friendly last year? I was very impressed with their left sided number 6 in that game but can't mind his name.

That was him. http://www.goal.com/en/match/37011/aston-villa-vs-fiorentina/lineup-stats

Ta. A shame we dont appear interested then, he looked the stand out player in a highly rated side.

Whelan wants ten. We've offered nine.

Everton don't have a pot to piss in, Sunderland have said they can't afford him, Pardew says Newcastle gave up ages ago.

Increase our bid now, and we are bidding against ourselves, surely?

It's all very well saying
'Oh just pay the extra million'
A million is a lot of money by anybodys standards.

They'll probably reach a compromise of £9.5m and all well and good as the money saved can be used elsewhere.

Its not so much paying the extra million, its more that £10 million is a very good price.

No drama queen because of the dramatic "welcome to Villa, Aiden" when the bid for N'Zogbia hasn't even been rejected. And because most of your posts are like this.

And why should I not talk about the likes of Parker and Dann as legitimate targets? N'Zogbia is a similar calibre and we're in for him. We've signed similar calibre players in recent years.
Hardly out of our reach are they? Well, you might think so but that's no suprise though. Everything is hopelessly shit, right?

Quite, yet not increasing it is apparently a "frankly shit way of doing business".

I was just going to mention this, a million quid equates to very roughly 10% of our season ticket income.

The point is what is a million to us when we sell players at 5 million losses? Or sign shit players on long term deals then don't play them? Or pay out the best part of 10 million in 2 months in manger compensation fees??

£1m can make a difference if McLeish is juggling his available funds and needs to use that £1m elsewhere.

And it might be the difference in another bid for all we know. Or that extra signing on fee that would secure a big name signing etc...
Maybe the club aren't the ones who haven't got a clue how to do business.

All the more reason to learn from mistakes and not repeat them then.

Whelan is a bit of a snake in the grass.

Offer £9.5 and get him in.

Less than 4 weeks to kick off, we need things closed off.
