I noticed that Ash seemed to play a lot further forward the other night than when he plays for us.  It might have been beneficial for us that he and Bent were paired together by Capello and he would no doubt have told them how he wanted them to play.

Let's hope tomorrow sees a continuation of the productive output from Ash!

If Ash continues to play 'in the hole', and there is no marked improvement, then holding on to him won't be a problem as nobody (bigger/better than us) will want to buy him.
You're right.
I think other teams would like him, but not in that position.
We really don't get the best out of him there.

Did it work against Denmark because there was more space for him, which he doesn't get in the PL.

Possibly, Denmark are quite an open, attacking side.
