So if you wanted to watch it from home on your TV what stuff do you need.

Interesting.
If upheld it will certainly hit Sky's income from pubs.

A victory for the common man.

Without tthinking too deeply on it, I hope this is the beginning of the end for Sky and their huge influence on the game.

Its probably not though.

Well they won't just let it happen. I'm sure the tories will be trotting someone out to speak against it soon enough. Perhaps someone who doesn't think we should be in the EU and will use this as proof of more 'interfering' from Brussels.

It's different when SKY turn a blind eye to the ex pats in Spain who watch PL on sky boxes. The PL and SKY are proper wankers.

So what if it wasn't upheld?

It's not as though the pubs who show these games would be pulling the plug if the outcome was unfavourable.

The PL can think and say what they like about it. As it stands, there is nothing they can do to prevent any of us installing and using a system compatible with any EU satellite broadcasts e.g. a cheap Greek system.

The adjudication is very strongly worded "(The) exclusivity rights in question have the effect of partitioning the internal market into quite separate national markets, something which constitutes a serious impairment of the freedom to provide services."

The PL/Sky may eventually get things turned around in their favour but it will be a long process.

No it just means they would have been done more easily than they are now.

You can buy the receiver for about £400 that gives you access to live coverage of every single premiership match.

My parents subscribed to Sky from Spain for 8 years, and they were only too happy to take the money.

http://bulsat.com/tv.php

148 BGN (~ 65GBP) equipment + 16 BGN (~7GBP) monthly for the package that gets both channels showing premiership football (Diema and Nova Sport). You get 6 PL games per weekend + FA cup games (don't know how many) + you get between 4-6 CL games in CL weeks plus UEFA cup games. (plus quite a lot of other stuff like Spanish primera, Bundesliga, Russian top division may be italy too etc.)
