I just hope this doesn't impact on the female lino's career!

Blimey there is another Leftside!

And so Keys goes, too.

I can't be bothered to trawl through 40-odd pages of debate, so I apologise if this comment has made previously.

(1)  As always, the problem here is not that people indulge in this sort of "banter", but rather they get caught.  Being caught is the offence.

I would imagine what they said about Sian Massey, whilst not correct, was only echoing what thousands of TV viewers and spectators at Molineux were saying.  Go into most workplaces, on most days, and you'll hear sexist comments - including all the stereotypes that women pin on men.

It's not big and it's not clever, but it is the way that the battle of the sexes is played out.  On the basis the fairer sex has all but won that battle, the comments of two blokes is, in the overall scheme of things, irrelevant.

I do think, though, that the sexual innuendo with the microphone was inexcusable.

(2) The hypocrisy of the Murdoch Empire is jaw-dropping.  On one hand it wants to offer the head of Gray on a plate to half the population; on the other hand it wants to give the other half of the population Page 3 to ogle.

Millions of footy fans are at a loss what to do next as Gray and Keys invented football and are that the footy fan knows. They also helped inform the footy fan what team to support and what was happening during the game. The footy fan may fail to cope with GrandSlamSuperDuperSurvival Sunday matches no longer having their talisman presenting it. A sad loss to us all.

I guess this will mean a promotion for Stelling who is a much better presenter and more likeable bloke than the departing baboon.

The lino who prompted all this should get an award for services to football.

I've got a feeling it's going to be Ben Sheppard.

I am still of the view that sacking the pair was a step too far. There were other options that could have been pursued to discipline them for their comments. I feel a reaction this strong just stirs up resentment and does little to change people's attitudes towards sexism.

Stelling would be a good choice.
