A couple of questions for some of the people on here.

If you had a daughter, who is attractive, and in her mid-twenties, and saw a middle-aged man sticks his hand down his trousers and say "Are you going to help me tuck this in?". Let's say it is your friend, in the pub or one of her colleague's at work. Is this flirting, or just having a laugh?

If you overheard a couple of men that you did not know saying, your wife, daughter, girlfriend should not be doing their job because they are female, and doing so with no humour or irony. Is this banter?

If the answer to either is "Yes", then you are part of the problem.

And if the woman in question wasn't related to you how? I reckon we'd be less sanctimonious then. Be honest, we're all at it in one way or another to varying degrees and it'd be hypocritical to say otherwise.

But there is a difference between taking the piss, and being a creepy lech. Women in my workplace seem to know the difference.

I don't think we are though, in the tone that Gray and Keys quite clearly were. If it had been jovial banter then he would have got away with a bit of a storm, but the pair of them sound vindictive and dismissive of Sian Massey as if she is some kind of new initiative that there is no place for. And she got the biggest call right, which Gray was clearly on commentary desperate to have been wrong.

As for the pair of them, I have never warmed to Keys, and any man that takes steps to have his hairy hands lasered due to worries about how they will look in HD is a bit of a pillock, we tune in to watch football, not you Richard. Gray has always been quite harsh on Villa in my eyes when commentating, and his complete love in for the top 3-4 clubs plus Liverpool is often gut wrenching, so not sad to see either go. Just don't replace him with big Sam, he was useless the other night doing the Bolton Chelsea game.

It'll be John Barnes then. (chortle)

Is that why you finished up in court?

Some men only understand sexism if it's done in relation to er...relations.

And I agree about the degrees of involvement.

Where is the line drawn though.

I've worked at places where games like "shag, marry or throw of a cliff" have been played on nights out by males and females, places where the females would wind the males up by flashing underwear or more, or lads being accused of being heartless/dead inside if they didn't want to be hugged/groped by women. Taken to it's further degrees all the people involved should be sacked. None of the above is right, but in the same sense saying someone is a looker surely isn't a sackable offence?

As far as I can tell, nobody on this thread has said that calling someone a looker is a sackable offence.

That was the Andy Burton thing. I don't want him sacked because of that, that'd be way over the top. I would, however, like him sacked for being a horrible, oily git.

Gray should never work again.

He should be replaced by Stan Collymore immediately.

But he's been suspended and is likely to go, or have a severe reprimand.

This Keys/Gray situation reminds me of when Big Fat Ron spoke unpleasantly about Marcel Desailly. Wasnt BFR sacked ?

Collymore's definitely harder hitting than Gray.
