Stokie here, I would have had a wet dream with us signing Carew a year or 2 ago, he's a great player and arguably one with more pedigree than we've had for a long time, it's just as a target man we have K Jones, were will he fit in?

Would prefer him to Eidur Gudjohnson as back but it that this won't make up for the possible departure of Fuller any easier to take.

Either way we'll get behind him.

On the other end of a long throw in maybe ?

Don't expect to see any beads of sweat Stokie.

I was always amazed at what afforded carew hois cult status with some people.

Good scoring record, terrible attitude and the whole lap dancing thing was a disgrace, showed what he thought of the club by breaking a curfew, then turning up back late from Norway "injured".

At least we've heard the last of his song

The throws cause havoc but don't really works much these days, Surely we can't have Jones and Carew on for throws we need a Fuller Tuncay type on somewhere.

Either way I shall enjoy the John Carew song, He's bigger than me and you, John Carew, Carew  8) ;D Can't wait to blast that one out.

P.s If he comes and doesn't try in a Stoke shirt he won't play. Pulis never plays a slacker.

I will be sad to see him go but agree that the time is right for him to do so. On his day I think he was World Class but we haven't seen that for over a year. So good luck to him I hope he does well. A new challenge may bring out his best and be what he needs. I quite like Stoke so with the exception of against us I hope he scores a few for them

Carew has gone on loan, even though he's out of contract at the end of season.

Unless we have a recall option in the loan?

When he's on his game he's much more than a target man.  Whe he's up for it, he's unplayable, and if a move invigorates him you'll finish the season strongly.

Yes I worded that poorly, calling him a target man is very unfair. He just won't be running at people like Fuller or Tuncay do. We are evolving into a side that plays a bit of football and 2 massive forwards does worry me slightly, however good.

I bet Rory Delap will be salivating at the thought of having Jones AND Carew in the box for his throw-ins.

he gave us some good memories, but his last few months have been nothing short of disgraceful...

he could have been one of the very best, but didnt want it enough...

shame really...

Exactly -  some days he looked World Class and others he looked Warley Sunday League Standard.
