you can expect him to be totally unplayable on his day.. no defender in world football could handle john carew when he has his mind set...

unfortunately, his good days come about as often as a total eclipse, and he is more often than not a frustrating figure who flatters to deceive while he jogs about the pitch... he does get the odd goal even when not playing well though, and they tally up at the end of the season...

it is a real shame that he isnt focused, as if he was, he could be one of the very best in the game...

as for us, messed up pre season, and lots of injuries... hopefully, we can now push on and the season starts now...

Can we recall Carew and Weinmann if required?

Carew has loads of niggling injuries these days, including back trouble.

Expect him to miss a few games.

Cheers lads.

I wasn't overwhelmed when he signed in all honesty. As long as he's not been brought in to replace Fuller then I think he's a decent acquisition.

We have to hope that he has a new leash of life being at a new club, new manager, new surroundings etc. Hopefully Pulis can get the best out of him.

Cya John, you used to be unplayable on your day (I will never forget WBA away a few years ago) but you never have those days anymore. And we have better ways to spend 60K a week than on a lumbering CF with the turning circle of the QE2.

I'd like to wish you good luck, but the way you've taken the piss at my club during your time here means that despite your goals, I can't. So farewell.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the change of scene does him good. It seems to have been the pattern throughout his career - starting with promise but fading away.

I think the loan deal suits you very well.

I bet the Stoke fans will like this deal as he always liked to score against Stoke, best of luck JC but not too much!

I'm pretty sure that was one of the reasons behind us making a move for him !!

He was our top scorer last term with 17
I'm not entirely comfortable with him going, maybe a bit premature

Well he was infinitely better than his make weight Baros, for that I'll always be thankful. He's been the victim up managerial turmoil and formation changes, when Milner, Downing and Young were knocking in the crosses with Gabby to play off he was great, but over the last year he's given less and less of a flying fuck. With the acquisition of Bent and Houllier preferring Heskey, the writings pretty much on the wall. Thanks for the memories big John.

Why aren't the likes of Celtic and Rangers interested /

I'd prefer to see JC loaned outside the Premier

Come on!  It's far too cold in Jockland for Carew.

Yeah, end of an era. Thanks for the memories. But time both club and player moved on.

Cheers big John (hey that almost rhymes)

I know wiki isn't the most reliable of sources but their definition is pretty good

A rhyme is a repetition of similar sounds in two or more words
