If more of our shots had gone in, and more of the opposition's shots had been saved, we'd certainly be higher up the league, can't argue with that.  You are Gerard Houllier and I claim my £5.

im off the bookies to put some money on us going down.. that will ease the blow a little......

I did that on the 6th November. Laid down a tenner at 33/1.

Don't want it to happen but am fearing the worse.

Didn't like numbskull when he was at Liverpool.

Didn't want numbskull when he joined Villa.

And I certainly don't want the numbskull here now.

so thats you and Risso got money on Villa to go down,
anyone else ?

No, but if he got 33/1 as he said he did, I wish I had done, as it'd be looking like a decent punt right now.

You are "Franksey", "Rego" or the so-called Villa fan from WM's breakfast show and I claim mine!

I'm so glad that Randy and the board are running our club rather than the majority of lynch-mob minded, Radio WM presenter soundalikes (you know, the ones who thought it was a "blessing" when the club captain suffered an injury earlier in the season) that have been posting here.

For a proportion (I believe a minority) of the crowd to respond to conceding a goal that was due mainly to us being reduced to playing 10 against 11 (when it clearly should have been 10 v 10) with chants of "you're getting sacked in the morning" was truly incredible. Had that shot hit the post, had Heskey's chance that hit the bar gone in etc. etc. then many of the same sheep-like idiots would have been going home smiling.

We frequently bemoan the lack of success football-wise in this area - I think we get what a minority of the support (those who form their opinions from "Franksey", "Rego" and other assorted Radio WM know-nothings) deserve and, indeed, help to come to pass.

I also considered the future of the season ticket I've had in the same seat in the Lower Holte since the stand was built (my support goes back to 1964 not just 1990!). However, the reason was that I couldn't bear the thought of being on the same side as these "unsupporters" who do not know how to back their team when they need it. Then I realised that most people around me shared my opinion - and probably don't post on here!

No doubt I'll get a warning from a moderator for slanging you all, especially as this only my 5th post!!!

I agree, the Sacked in the Morning chanting during the game was utterly pointless, it isn't going to help, it is just going to make things worse.

However, I really don't think being down to 10 men had anything to do with it. We were piss poor with 11 men, too. We had one shot on target - one - at home to Sunderland. Sunderland who, incidentally, were rubbish, but showed an organisation that we were woefully lacking.

I was firmly in the "stand by him, as the alternative is worse" camp until last night, when we saw what was the most insipid, disorganised, half arsed performance I have seen by a Villa side for a very long time. I'm now at the point where I think the biggest contribution we could make to the team would be to remove the manager - we have a team of players who look very much like they don't want to play for the manager.  It is wrong that it is like that, but it is, and it is getting worse.

Lots of teams get relegated after having people say "they're too good to go down" all season, whereas teams that survive against the odds often do so through showing spirit.

Right now, spirit is the one thing we are totally bereft of, and I just can not see how it will come back. Yes, we were better at Chelsea, but let's not forget, we even did our best to throw that away. Wolves right now are showing spirit. So are Wigan. It is just us and West Ham who look devoid of motivation.

Given all that, it is hardly surprising that the fans are turning against the manager. It's too easy to say we're "fickle", too. How much do we have to put up with before turning is understandable? How late is "too late" in terms of carrying on doing what we are doing?

Everything in the garden is rosy then ?

Passionate (younger than you) fans chanted 'sacked in the morning' probably like you would have done when you were 18.

Haven't read the posts sorry but all I will say is this:  If we aren't sacking him, then back him with a decent amount to get us out of this fcuking mess.  Relegation would cost us a damn sight more than we'll spend so we have to act otherwise we are in the shit.

In all the pros and cons expressed on this issue, this ^^^^^ is the absolute crux of the matter.

All down to youthful ignorance then, TimTheVillain? I rest my case - I'm so glad we're owned and managed by mature people who know how to hold their nerve when dealing with difficulties brought about by a temperamental quitter walking out 5 days before the season started, leaving bewildered and disillusioned players behind him.

When I was 18 I was going to away matches in the old second division. When I was 14 to 16 I was going to away matches in the old third division, using money earned on a paper round to pay my fair on the train. I wouldn't have dreamed of publicly abusing the players or managers of my club! Passion and youth do not excuse brainless actions that make problems worse!!

But you paid for your ticket so you are totally entitled to abuse/question how things are at the club. You are not paying the money for blind devotion. Blind devotion is what we all have for Villa. In the heart. The others come and go.

Being entitled to do something does not always make it a bright thing to do, Small Rodent. For example, you could buy a new car and then set fire to it because it needed a new set of tyres!
