While they're in turmoil can we steal their left back and centre forward?

I really hope O`Neill gets the job.
Lets face it, if he fell out with Randy Lerner within 4 years I would give it 6 months to all end in tears with Ashley.

O'Neill's a Sunderland fan, so might not fancy it.

O neill was a Sunderland fan as a kid - he's never really expressed affection for them since , so I'm sure that would not stop him .

He was by no means a passionate fan and just followed them fron Ireland and his family were all Celtic fans- mixing o neill and Ashley would be like fire and water and it couldn't happen to a nicer club!

I reckon he'd do ok there. At least well enough so they would be above us for a while and the media would love it, while persisting with their mental idea that Villa forced him out by refusing to give him any money to spend. I imagine it would implode eventually but it might not be much fun before it does.

I'd much rather they appointed Pardew or Shearer so we can take the piss.

Rumour (Can't say where from as it's inside VP) has it that MoN can't take another position before 1st Jan!

Can't imagine shearer going back there after they got rid of him without even telling him - mike Ashley has an ego that makes deadly doug look like father Christmas!

Strong speculation now building that it's pardew and that would be great- there would be ructions in the toon and he would take them down this season.

On holiday in Barbados with no interest in the job according to the wireless.

Have to feel sorry for the Geordies. They have an almost blind love for their club and they get treated like shit as a reward.

Martin Jol has just left Ajax by mutual consent. Coincidence?

Interesting, Mr. Bond, I still think MON will end up there.

Why would Jol suddenly resign now?

Ashley's a fat mess and that was a disgraceful sacking but Jol would be a good appointment.

if that happens, you have to ask how serious we pushed the boat out to some of these managerial candidates in August.
