Is it any coincidence that I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here finished at the weekend?

Ant and Dec at a loose end ... Hughton sacked, therefore creating a position?

Maybe they truly are the next messiah(s).

Don't think o neill will get a Better offer than Newcastle and I would be amazed if he turned it down- my opinion of o neill is not very high and it would all end in tears so let him go there and then people will see how good chris hughton was for them.

Ashley is hated in the north east and getting o neill would court favour with the fans for a while- chris hughton has done a great job and deserves the utmost respect - I wish him well.

O neill already installed as clear favourite for the job !

Your man Ashley is a round headed twat with a death wish...someone's gonna set fire to him soon.  Don't think there is anybody walking straight in either the club has said they will make an announcement about an interim appointment.  That makes even less sense, why get rid of Hughton if there is no successor in place??

Could only happen at Newcastle.  LOLZ

Now sky are saying pardew is the new favourite- if he goes there they are as good as down , similar to brian laws taking over at burnley- pardew must be one of the most uninspiring managers of them all - if he went there I'd expect Ashley never to show his face on tyneside again!

I'd still be surprised though if it's not o neill , but maybe someones tipped off the bookies about pardew!

Sky also saying a new manager expected to be appointed very very quickly, which suggests they have already made their move.

Another smart move by the Newcastle board... I wonder which manager they'll pick which will lead them into the Champions League this season?

I heard from a friend earlier today that Ashley wanted to appoint Pardew a while back, had promised the job, and was looking for the slightest excuse to get shot of Hughton.

I've managed to get 7/2, which I reckon is well worth a flutter.

Couldn't make this up - the guy has done an amazing job with no money after inheriting a shower of shite - turned them round and started building nicely - making St James a very difficult place to go - as we found to our cost.

Ashley is a twat clearly - give my left tit for O'Neill to take it - i know where he can find some cut price crap all with premier league/SPL experience, could be the answer to RL's wage bill issue - think Heskey/Sidwell/Reo/Dunne/Cueller/Ireland would all look good in stripes - and Beye already has a bunch of songs waiting for his return.

Would "love it" if Mon took them over and took them back down "love it"

Ashley / O'Neill were made for each other - unfortunately can't see it happening, MON needs cash to waste and AShley doesn't have spit, guess he must have someone lined up - can't see Pardew getting a good welcome up there if it's him - but can't see anyone decent coming in with Ashley's rep and lack of backing - Dowie as football consultant again or the twat from Hull more likely Ha Ha - howay the lads :-)
