I know one or two Celtic fans and I'm not fussed if they don't officially condemn anything. On another note I heard 2 or 3 new songs on Saturday that seemed to be designed to breathe new life into old songs sung. Although in saying that the Nigel Spink, rolls the ball to Platty...got an airing. As did the Bells are Ringing. (The latter good, the former? meh.)There wasthe Deoeche Mode - 'Just Can't Get Enough' with the instrumental bit being the hook for us all to join in on. Also to the tune of Macarena was a surprisingly great Barry Bannan song - 'Who needs Barry when you get Barry Bannan? (x3) Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Barry Bannan. And shoes off if you love Villa is surely going to catch on everywhere from Craven Cottage to St Geordie Park to George Bush conferences in Iraq.
Oh no. We've stolen that shoes off nonsense from the Barcodes? We'll be standing shirtless in sub zero temperatures next.
Definitely didnt get the shoes off song from the Geordies and it's hardly nosense it's just a bit off fun!

I just asked what their thoughts were. Which I think is a fair question given the links between the 2 groups.

He's not likely to say that he couldn't care less or that he thought it was a great banner and sentiments alike, is he? But as I said they are not apologists for anyone, nor are they an established group with deep seated roots and public- provoking opinions across the football fraternity. They're just a group of fans. What are you after? A chance to hang them?
No, didn't see the full link between Green Brigade and this lot. As such we shouldn't have any links with them at all if they spout this shite and Brigada should ask their views on it and why we should be linked with likewise. If we had have seen this from a Bordsley Muslim FC team then you can bet the papers, and lazy racist/prejudiced/ignorant types would have been jumping all over it.
The Brigada 1874 site has numerous Green Brigade/Celtic fans, has at least one link to a forum/fanzine that appears pro Celtic/Irish/Republican, and strong links appear to have been formed between the Green Brigade & Brigada 1874.
But surely to be taken seriously as a group you'd need a unanimous opinion from the group?
I cant believe the hand wringing going on in this thread,Brigada 1874 pontificate about being anti-fascist yet are strongly in cahoots with the green brigade at celtic who displayed that disgusting banner about poppies/our troops on saturday. It seems to me that whoever is behind this Brigada group need educating about anti-fascism in as much as it was ours and there forefathers who fought against fascism, tyranny and opression from 1939-1945.If it wasn't for there sacrifices fascism wouldnt have been defeated and the way of life we have now would have been much different.Brigada 1874 has no real identity or actually know what it believes in in my opinion and for that reason:I'm out...
