As a club we are starting to look very smalltime. If this was happening at the sty we would be laughing at them. Pathetic.

I think from a converstion in the office last week that there are no shirts available at the sty for their supporters either-something to do with switching the suppliers to a Chinese firm

How very embarrassing.  Massive launch to unveil them in August but not on sale until November.

Its a pretty poor shirt as well IMO.  Nice to keep the traditional claret body and blue arms but haven't been impressed with the quality of the shirts Nike have produced - not much better than Hummel.  Would sooner have Adidas or Puma.

Already stated the facts of today re free printing and price freeze for the original delay, so todays message still the same compensation for a worse message, not on.
Should be a 2 year one now but  imagine having frre printing of a squad player in November and potentially 5 weeks later in January, Houllier ships him out, and stuck with that name if we kept kit for a second year, i just dont know how thay are going to get around this with some decent goodwill

I don't follow that.

Why does criticising one thing they do mean you're ignoring all the other praise they've had?

There's a world of difference between criticising them for one thing they're party to blame for and "typical of our club - we're a soft touch" when it isn't and they're anything but.

It doesn't bother me as I don't wear replica shirts, but my 9 year old son has been watching his chelski and redscouse mates wearing their new jerseys at footy practice since June, so now his birthday present (also June) will not be available until November. There will be a lot of disappointed kids, not a great way to build up your fan base!

Bloody hell, what on earth are they doing at VP?  We're doing a good impression of being run by a bunch of clueless numpties at the moment.

How does a shirt being badly made come down to being the club's fault?

They appointed Nike, and then took ages finding a sponsor.  In a large organization you take responsibility for your actions.  The club is responsible for getting a kit out for sale, and they've failed to so so.  Is anything their fault in your eyes?

Agree with Risso on this one. If I don't deliver to a Client it is my fault. The buck stops with me. If it is due to a sub-contractor, it's still my problem. I contracted them.

To be honest, where Nike are concerned, there's growing evidence we are a soft touch. It's not the first time the shirts have been late.

It's farcical. The club are selling it for the same price as last season and trying to show it as a good deal as it's a fiver less than the RRP for this season. The printing 'deal' is a red herring too.

The club should at the very least announce officially the lifespan of this kit so that supporters are making an informed decision. Wherever the fault is, the fans are being ripped off. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if this was known about weeks ago but the club delayed announcing it until the manager was announced as coming.

2 things if the kit is made in Pakistan then I
can understand the delay, and if the kit is only being used for 1 season, then we should get the away kit free with the home.Bet we don't.

Unbelievable.  It's not the first time Nike have done this and yes, I could not see them doing it to  ManUre or Arsenal.

And no matter who's fault this is, the club will face the flack.  And with the fiasco surrounding the Houllier appointment not a good time to announce this.

So what are they going to do to make this right?

If I was FX Pro,  I would not be happy that our logos were not walking adverts by now.  If there was any contarct penalties for failure to promote the FX Pro brand,  then I hope Nike is liable.
