do you think permission and the chance to actually tell others it is there may help?

General, when designing a new stand (new North Stand for example) are acoustics taken into account, with a view to improving the atmosphere?

Do they club have any other plans in the pipeline for improving accoustics within the ground? I sit in the Upper Holte and am genuinely surprised after some matches when people in other parts of the ground claim they couldn't hear us. I do appreciate that we aren't that loud for many matches but am thinking more along the lines of when I think we have been.

One answer, which the people who run this site aren't interested in, is the join the stands up somehow.

I wait to see what the General has to say !

Where do you garner that opinion from? Your question does not make sense anyway.

General,

It hasn't escaped my attention that we NEVER win when we play in claret shorts.

Can you have a polite word with the kit staff and ask them to burn every pair we own?

Think Stephen Ireland need to work with Acorns for a week to remind him how lucky he is and change his outlook and attitude as he is not performing even after telling off. There is a good player but he got to have desire and commitment

General

My question was that I was wondering if the Villa were willing to sponsor me, I am growing a moustache for Movember and its in aid of raising money for prostate cancer research! A worthwile cause im sure you'll agree, I know the Villa do a lot of work for charity with Acorns etc but every penny counts and I guess im just being a bit cheeky. Refusal wont offend

Regards

Phil

'Garnered' from comments from your colleagues Legion.

Corners filled in = better atmosphere.

Hi General

I was really disappointed on Wednesday to discover the Villa Vitality food outlet in the lower Doug Ellis has been closed and replaced by the usual burgers and chips.

It took up just one half of a kiosk (the real coffee place is in the other half, I hope that's not for the chop too).

Elsewhere there are three full kiosks selling all the usual football stadium fare. Surely the club makes enough profit from those outlets to give over one eighth of its catering floor space to offer other options.

It's been great having the choice, especially for night games or matches like today when it's convenient to grab something to eat at the stadium. Now the club is missing out on my cash.

Can you explain the decision please?

This isn't an answer, I know, but in the Trinity they were serving the Villa Vitality stuff - cottage pie & absolutely delicious it was too.  Must have been a problem with you Witton Lane yobs!!   ;)

Oh rub it in, why don't you!

Obviously all you Trinity Lane people must be very svelte and healthy, and turn one's noses up at pies and chips ;-)

General, any thoughts? (on the original question, not whether Trinity Laners are toffs)

Trinity Lane? That's a new one.

The empty seats are because of the ridiculously priced £45 tickets, nothing to do with traffic. The £25 tickets are reasonable yes but the club need to seriously rethink the £45 tickets, we haven't sold out against Blues or Man Utd which tells you everything you need to know. Our highest priced tickets were about £30-£35 just a few years ago so how can the club justify a £10-£15 increase in a few years when we've done nothing on the pitch to justify it.

When we start cutting ticket prices for games like that and still failing to fill the ground, it must be time to look at season ticket prices.  I get the feeling that many people are getting fed up about all the cheap ticket offers, which used to only be for poor games. When the season ticket holders start to vote with their feet it won't be a trickle that walk away, in my opinion, it will be a very large number.

If we look back a couple of seasons , people were moaning that they couldn't have a nice cosy chat at half time or before a game because of the music. Now there are some saying there is no atmosphere and no volume out of the speakers. I think the music should be wound up as loud as possible and we should have some old sixties and seventies stuff on there.

I made that very point not long ago and got laid into by several people who seem to not accept the fact that the pricing between match to match offers and season tickets is an incredibly delicate thing to get right.

I appreciate the need to get people in on a per match basis this season, and the reasons the club made the offers they did - and f they hadn't, i suspect crowds would have been much worse - but thus far, on offers already made, my season ticket is turning out to be not really a great deal cheaper than buying on a per match basis with the offers.

I'll renew mine as I like the people I sit near, and I like my seat, but it'd be dangerous ground to assume that the majority would think the same way.

With the economy screwed, and Birmingham screwed more than anywhere else, it is going to be even harder to persuade people to part with 4 or 500 odd quid in May / June next year.

Surely it would be worth the club when doing any deals during the season, taking the discount off next seasons season tickets for existing ticket holders. I am not a season ticket holder due to working nights, but to me people who put their money into the club in the summer should not lose out when backing the Villa for a whole campaign in advance.
