Thought he came across superbly. Looked genuinely excited about managing the team. Im a bit annoyed he cannot get started straight away though

Someone summarise what he said in neat bullet point format

He got me on side when he talked about Liverpool not losing at VP since 1998, and then said 'I want to change that first of all'.

Came across very well, oozing confidence. I'm very happy we're in safe hands - he looked healthy too.

Seemed quite witty and funny as well and clued up on our squad.

The above echoes my sentiments entirely, I've been fairly ambivalent about the appointment thus far but that press conference has given a boost of confidence that we have indeed got the right man for the job.  He certainly seems to be relishing the challenge.

Aye, he looked like a kid on Christmas morning.

Ok, i am wrong, i hold my hands up, i admit i was a bit of a dick.

i have just watched the press conference ( which sky cut short " bastards" ) bet they wouldnt do that if a new man u manager was there

i like him

Like what he is saying

wants europe. Wants silverware

Is looking to get players in jan

Having a laugh with press. Seems pretty laid back

Doesn't seem as miserable as oniell

and that liverpool comment i thought was brilliant !!

Having just watched the press conference i was very impressed with our new manager, he knew quite a lot of stuff about our great club. It might be some time before he actually starts properly though, possibly after the Bolton match, he will be there though. Kevin MC going back to managing the reserves though. Both men seem very nice and genuine.

A very good press conference indeed. The cynic in would say that he said the right things to impress the fans however his tone and body language suggest that he is genuinely enthused by this job. He's been honest and realistic from day one and he has my full backing (not that he needs it!).

Uh oh.  "happy memories of Villa Park.. Robbie Fowler scoring a hattrick!"

D'oh!

cue another 30 pages of why he would have brought that up **winky**

I'm glad people have got a good impression of him. He always speaks very well and intelligently. Kind of what I like about Wenger too. Very much looking forward to him changing things around. The one thing that his former players have all said is that he isn't afraid to wield the knife and bring in his own staff and players. We need to broom some of the crap, and introduce some additional quality into the squad.

Here's to a very unpredictable January transfer window.

Fair play. Give the man a chance. Same goes for any player he brings in. Don't have such hard stances on things.

Aside from the history lesson he gave us that sounded a bit stilted, I picked out that:

(a) Champions League isn't an immediate goal
(b) He thinks January is a bad time of year to do business, but he'll still have a look.
