A season of torpor and mediocrity awaits.

Strangely, that's how last season felt too!

I do hope Randy isn't sitting in his office having the same thought  :-\
It'd be a preferable thought to Jurgen Klinsman.

Martin Jol -  "Villa will have to wait."
Svennis - "Big club, anyone would be interested."
Koemen- "I know they are looking at me, but they are considering others too."

Or were you holding out for Mourinho?

Koemen- "I know they are looking at me, but they are considering others too." - Thats  a really clear "I want the job"...not
Svennis - "Big club, anyone would be interested." - I assume this is Mr Erikson. He would do for me but from the various threads about a new manager, there are quite a few people who don't think he's good enough.
Martin Jol -  "Villa will have to wait." - Need I say more?

No, please don't.

You've convinced me with your superior Wayne's World debating skills.

It's a shit job, who would possibly want it etc.

I would love Roy Hodgson to walk out on Liverpool over broken promises about the owners selling the club. A really good manager caught up in a joke of a situation. Come to VP, Woy. You'll be loved down here.

Half his squad want to leave, Mascherano, Kuyt, Torres

Come on Woy you know it makes sense

Yes, please come to Villa and repeat your fantastic achievements at Blackburn.

Yeh, you're right. He was shit at Fulham too. He also has no coaching knowledge, or contacts across Europe. He couldn't possibly manage a big club like Villa. After all his time at those minnows Inter Milan is irrelevant. In fact let's just dump him in with Alan Pardew or Curbishley. FFS

I thought walking out on a club was the worst crime imaginable. Surely we wouldn't want anyone capable of such a dsatardly act at Villa Park.

Big Ron? Bri The Messiah? Mind you they knew what they were coming to.

Why don't we appoint a Villa jirga of Elders? We could have Big Ron, Bri, Sir Graham, sitting at the top table and any Villa matters should be run through them. From appointing a manager, to fans relations, to agreeing transfer targets.

Chris, had Martin walked out in June do you honestly think there would be this much consternation?

He never won anything with Fulham and certainly never finished higher than Villa. Never won anything in an established footballing country. For fucks sake - he's done nothing apart from overachieve with Fulham. He's won considerably less than MON for starters (er...I think - would need to check to confirm that though). Like it'd be some achievement if he was our manager. Bollocks. Being the best on that list is not an achievement. Contacts is one thing, being a very good manager is another. Ruud Gullit had great contacts. Steve McClaren had none because everyone thought he was shit!

He overachieved at Fulham with a fraction of MON's transfer budget. He didn't get to be manager of Inter or Liverpool because he's bollocks. His teams play very attractive football on top of all of that. I think you're getting a little bit carried away with your nonsense.

You're advocating uncle Roy walking out in August.

We could argue til the cows come home about why X would be great and Y would not be, but...........

Am I the only one who feels that this discussion pales in comparison to how Randy and the board decide to proceed?

Randy won't be at NFL owner meeting as Team President Mike Holmgren will be attending on his behalf.

Who cares if it is someone else copping the shit, though?

So long as it isn't us, I don't care.
