I can't personally see why Bilic is more acceptable option than Bradley just because he has managed Hadjuk Split for a season.  Arguably Bradley is better qualified, he's managed 2 league teams (albeit not in europe) and is a far more successful national manager than Bilic.  I dont remember seeing Croatia at the World Cup??

Bilic for me is the Croatian equivalent of being linked to Roy Keane

Edit: just seen on Wiki he only managed Hadjuk Split for 5 games

I don't think that's particularly as relevant as the fact that Bilic knows the European game, showed from Croatia that he knows how to integrate young players into an established side and get them playing exciting football without much practice time, so he could do even better with practice time. Although Croatia have some good attackers, their squad doesn't go deep and have very little defensively, whereas Bradley showed that American fitness and defensive ability resources far outstrip many countries in the world.

Also, do you not think that Croatia, competing for one of three automatic spots as opposed to one automatic spot, would not have qualified from a group consisting of Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Trinidad and Tobago? Or that Bilic wouldn't have qualified the USA from that group? Hardly a great achievement.

Bradley has shown some short-term pragmatist tactical acumen. But he has not shown he knows how to build a team or how to play exciting football, nor that he has great knowledge of the European game. I've detailed Bilic's qualities elsewhere so often so forgive me for not doing so again, but I believe him to be a far better candidate than Bradley.

I'm not saying I want Bradley, I just don't their is the chasm of managerial experience that some people claim there is between him and the likes of Bilic.   Bilic hasnt shown he has the ability to build a team either, you dont get that from international football or 5 games in charge or a league team.

If Bilic was that sought after, how come he only ever gets linked to the likes of West Ham

And Croatia didnt even make 2nd place in the WC group stages - an equally poor performance.

If Bradley did get given the job, Randy's future credibility would depend on how he did.

As he has absolutely no experience at PL level,

neither did Little or Gregory when they were named manager

If Sven gets the job alarm bells should start ringing & we may as well give El Tel a go .

both too old & not done anything of note since the England job.

He's just not on the 'A list' of Managers anymore, and players would be a little dubious about joining a club managed by a 'has been' as opposed to a 'happening' Manager.

Time will tell ( if he gets the job), but I for one would be very disappointed if he was our next Manager.

In answer to the question - we will struggle.

Bradley's appointment would be a fiasco.

One of the toughest leagues in the world and we could be asking a man with no experience of running a European club to steady the ship.

Just what sort of player can we hope to attract with a novice on board?

I agree.

It would be a sure sign that the board were absolutely bonkers if you ask me.

I wouldn't go that far. The guys an American, he's a decent run of results behind him as US manager, and I'd guess wouldn't ask a Premium like some. He's a good organiser and tactically quite incisive and if the reports are to be believed Randy is a keen fan of his.
Obviously he has never worked at this level, but then some have been advocating Cowans and McDonald, he has no experience of the European transfer market, but according to reports in the World Cup has a good knowledge of players World Wide, both tactically and in some instances personally. Besides if he is joining we don't know as what sort of package he will do so, perhaps he will be alongside someone else.
Not my idea of where we should be going but I can see his merits.

Bradley would be a complete disaster and quite an embarrassing signing for an english club the size of villa. If you bring him in you might aswell bring in rochdales coach.

I'd love Claudio Ranieri.  Got shafted at Chelsea after doing a good job. Juventus stupidly got rid of him. Very close to embarassing Mourinho the season just gone and probably would have done if he'd been in charge of Roma from the first day last season rather than coming in after their poor start.

Is George Graham still fit for purpose? Glenda Hoddle's probably got his CV in, David Platt an'all.

Saying Bradley is far more successful because the USA qualified for the World Cup and Croatia didn't is a bit of a red herring. The USA can't really fail to qualify from the CONCACAF region. The European qualifying section is far, far tougher.

Bilic is one of the few available that would interest me to be honest.

Someone who seems to have been overlooked by everyone is Didier Deschamps.....

Has proven himself a good manager in France, a World Cup winning captain who also played in the Premier League.

That is someone I could get excited about.

That's a pretty good shout actually. Gettable too as he nearly went to Newcastle about 18 months ago.

I think the question is wrong.  It shouldn't be "Our next manager" but rather "who would you like to be our next manager".

Probably would produce a totally different and more meaningful result.

UPDATE:Several outlets have misreported on our initial report, suggesting we reported that Bob Bradley had either resigned or been fired. We did not suggest either had happened, only that, according to our sources, it was unlikely Bradley’s contract would be renewed and that an official announcement could some as early as this week.

This was the article that appeared on Newsnow last night (despite being 19 hours old) that was read by that fat c*nt moose, who broadcast the story on national radio which was copied by the Birmingham Fail website (before being taken down) and which has caused a flurry of bets.
