SSN have just said that they understand Bradley has not resigned as manager of the USA side.  Thank God for that.

I knew it was typical TalkSport sh*t-stirring.....

No sign of it on any half-reputable site.
And no, I can't name any of them.

I can't personally see why Bilic is more acceptable option than Bradley just because he has managed Hadjuk Split for a season.  Arguably Bradley is better qualified, he's managed 2 league teams (albeit not in europe) and is a far more successful national manager than Bilic.  I dont remember seeing Croatia at the World Cup??

Bilic for me is the Croatian equivalent of being linked to Roy Keane

Edit: just seen on Wiki he only managed Hadjuk Split for 5 games

I cant look at Bilic without thinking of his disgusting antics in the WC Semi final 1998 when he got Larry White (Laurent Blanc) sent off, meaning he missed the WC Final.

Oh, and he just looks really shifty.

Looking at the votes more ppl have vote for Bilic, klinsmann, curbs and o'leary than hitzfeld and pellegrini, ones with a proven European history.

That's because the last two were added late, when most votes had already been cast.

Please, remember that stories like the Bradley one are all part of Ian Robathan's evil plan to destroy the internet.

Someone who seems to have been overlooked by everyone is Didier Deschamps.....

Has proven himself a good manager in France, a World Cup winning captain who also played in the Premier League.

That is someone I could get excited about.

I don't think that's particularly as relevant as the fact that Bilic knows the European game, showed from Croatia that he knows how to integrate young players into an established side and get them playing exciting football without much practice time, so he could do even better with practice time. Although Croatia have some good attackers, their squad doesn't go deep and have very little defensively, whereas Bradley showed that American fitness and defensive ability resources far outstrip many countries in the world.

Also, do you not think that Croatia, competing for one of three automatic spots as opposed to one automatic spot, would not have qualified from a group consisting of Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Trinidad and Tobago? Or that Bilic wouldn't have qualified the USA from that group? Hardly a great achievement.

Bradley has shown some short-term pragmatist tactical acumen. But he has not shown he knows how to build a team or how to play exciting football, nor that he has great knowledge of the European game. I've detailed Bilic's qualities elsewhere so often so forgive me for not doing so again, but I believe him to be a far better candidate than Bradley.

I think people dilute their preferred choices with a dose of reality.

Ha! I've always been told I've got my head in the clouds!
Hence I voted for pellegrini.

I think Randy could spring a little suprise on us and get someone not mentioned yet or someone considered out of our league. This will be seen as a big test for him in the footballing world, his first appointment. He will want to get it right and I thought I read somewhere that when it came to coaches for the Browns he pushed the boat out. We''ll see I hope it is someone inspring like when big ron came or o'neill for that matter.

Although most of us worry how well placed the Villa Board are to make the right Managerial appointment, they won't get much help from the H&V poll either, I agree.

Jol is a contender, but there is no way that he is clearly ahead of other names "on the board". I wholly agree with you that the case for Bilic is slight.

Rijkaard is not even mentioned, even though his credentials eclipse most, and he is "gettable". Hitzfeld is a European Managerial collosus, and is again "gettable", yet languishes at the bottom.
