I have bad memories of when they last came to VP and saw one of our stewards being knocked to the ground by a group of their fans. He died shortly after.

Thats sad, don't recall that
We do have "history" with QPR

I remember it as I was walking past as the idiots started their jumping up and down and shouting at each other. That old chestnut of hooligans only target hoolgans is such bollocks.

It was later reckoned that he died of natural causes and not as a direct result of the incident.

That was the last time we had a police free game at VP, not surprisingly. I was stewarding at the time and we had to go out into the street before the end of the game to try and form a barrier between the QPR mob (who were looking for trouble ) and the Villa coming down Witton Lane. We were about three deep across the road and in all the pushing and jostling, the steward in question either fell or got pushed over and hit his head on the pavement. A couple of patrol cars arrived a few minutes later, for what it was worth, and eventually the QPR mob melted away. There was some missile throwing, but very little fighting. I don't know if there were any clashes elsewhere though.

One of those rare games when you want both teams to lose, or the roof to cave in and the pitch to swallow up both sets of players.

Just thank the lord that Beckham isn't still training with them.

Must admit I quite fancy watching this tonight. I agree that all the hype is bollocks but I can avoid that and the game itself should be decent. Would like to see Spurs well and truly humiliated but doubt it will happen.

That's a surprise considering that you've named yourself after the bloke who scored a cup final winner for Spurs.
