Spurs to crash and Man U & Chelsea disqualified after a 10 minute, 22 man brawl.

Anyone else see this Spurs side and CL run and draw comparisons to what Leeds did under DOL?

I just can't escape the feeling it'll all end in tears.....

Financially Spurs are far more solid than Leeds were. They have profited enormously from being in the Champions League, I just hope they don't qualify again.

As I'm in Spain, I will probably watch the match on local TV so I don't have to suffer the pro-Spurs bullshit on Sky
Come on Madrid

I also want Man City to qualify for the Champions League at Spurs' expense. The money makes no difference to Man City but could be crucial to whether we have a chance of catching Spurs again in the upcoming seasons, if we stay up. Especially bearing in mind Spurs will have to spend a lot on their new stadium, now that they've lost the Olympic Stadium bid.

If i were a Spurs fan, on the day we were about to play Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the CL quarter final, the thought it might end in tears would be the furthest thing from my mind.

Absolutely, but from the outside it looks like their run in the CL this year will be at the expense of qualifying through the league for next season. So, they get their day in the sun but how do they feel next year when they're not in it? What do their players who have had a taster think?

Definitely not something to worry about today but I'm sure it is a concern for those who run the club.

Is it just the top 4 who get into the CL ?
assuming spurs finish 5th / 6th they'll need to win it to be in it again ?

It's a pretty slim crumb of comfort for us jealous feckers, though - the downside for them of being in it this year is that they might not be in it next year.

Still, it's probably worth taking.

I just hope they get mullered tonight.

I knew I'd miss one appropriate adjective regarding the manner of the Spurs defeat.

I used to not mind Spurs, in a not dislike them quite so much as some other teams kind of way, but their ridiculous refusal to get humiliated in Eurp is starting to really distress me.

I'm hoping tonight's the night.

I think Spurs may start to suffer in the same way we did at this point last season and injuries/tiredness will hit them hard.
