That draw means that only 5th in the Prem will qualify for Europe and that the winner of Bolton v Stoke will be guaranteed a Euro spot.

I wish I thought we'd be affected by that.

No but Liverpool will be, they now have to win the Europa League or they will not be in Europe next season.  There is  asmall crumb of comfort in knowing that.

If Chelsea/Spurs win the Champions league and dont finish in the top 4 then the team that finishes 4th will go into the Europa league as England can only have 4 teams in the Champions league

Quite right Holtender, at least that's one club Ashley won't be joining in the summer then I guess.  Can't realistically see Lplop winning the Europa or finishing in 5th so no European football for them either next season.  That could drastically affect their spending plans in the summer.

Liverpool ought to be going full-bore to win it then. It's only once you get to the quarter-finals and you're not really in any other competition that it starts to seem worthwhile.

What a depressing thought - Blose and maybe Stoke in Europe.

It is an absolute disgrace that the LOSERS of the FA Cup final get a place in Europe having  won just 5 games to get there instead of the team who have, over 38 Premier League matches against Premier League teams, proven to be the 6th best side in the league.

Stoke may be in Europe after winning the following fixtures:

Cardiff City H  (Which they drew and needed a replay)

Wolves A

Brighton H

West Ham H

Bolton (Wembley)

Now, does winning that little lot deserve to represent England in Europe?  Does it bol"£$KS!

The problem is that the Europa League has pretty much zero appeal, they have really messed up the 'Uefa Cup'. It's a terrible competition now.

Reading standing up to Man City, instead of pussying out and playing dead.

If Man City finish fifth and win the FA Cup, sixth place will still be good enough to get a place in Europe.

Yes, but will they do well in their next league game? Oh, er... never mind.

They won't do either.

Only if the FA cup winner has qualified for Champion's League. The Europa place is not guaranteed to the cup finalist. If Reading reach the final (and I hope they win today)  the Winner  and 5th place team will go into Europa league.

Bolton v Stoke  semi is crying out for Old Trafford not Wembley for all sorts of very good reasons.

With Stoke's style of play, Twickenham would be a suitable venue.
