Its the sort of tippy tappy football GH is trying to bring to B6, sadly, at present we dont have the players to execute it, particularly the penetrative element of this approach

Fair play to Arsenal, they stuck at it and eventually rattled them into looking ordinary and open at the back

"tippy tappy football" - ie actually playing the game as it should be played, by passing the ball, you mean?

"tippy tappy" is the sort of phrase you'd except to hear Stoke City fans using to criticise fans of other clubs who think teams who rely on long balls and long throws aren't much fun to watch.

Thank fuck Paulie.

I'm fed up of people using "tippy-tappy" as some sort of clichéd insult. Okay so the results aren't coming just yet, but they will, and we'll be a damn sight better to watch as well.

Exactly my view as well.

Tippy-Tappy denotes style over substance.

Football is a game played between two teams according to a set of laws/rules with the objective of winning a sporting contest. It's about physique as much as it is about technique and style.

West Brazil are rightly derided for their brand of tippy-tappy football, Barcelona play great football.

The job of an Aston Villa team isn't to be an aesthetically pleasing troupe, it is to win football matches. Always and anyway.

I'm inventing a new rule. If a game has Liverpool in it, it will be shite. If a game has Chelsea in it, it will be really, really shite. If a game has Liverpool and Chelsea in it... stop picking it for television coverage you Sky twats!

Bollocks.
"Tippy-Tappy" denotes a punters dismissive description of good, passing, possession football when they know they're own team either can't do it or is trying but hasn't yet got it right.

There is a reason why most football fans would prefer to watch Arsenal and Barcelona rather than Wigan or Bolton.

And why Martin O'Neill is still unemployed.

In fairness Dave, Bolton have improved a lot this year. They played better football than we did at Villa Park.

Unfortunately, horrid football works. That's why Wimbledon never looked like going down till they started playing a more expansive game, Blose were never close to the drop until Savage left and Stoke won't be buggering off any time soon.

Yes, we all know shit football works, and if Villa were playing it and winning I'd love it!

It's just this bloody 'tippy tappy' bollocks that seems to have become de riguerere (sic) over the last few days, what the fuck does it mean? I'll watch any old shite but I still know decent football when I see it, Barca and Arse don't play "tippy tappy" and nor do we.

 Bollocks? Fuck off.

The reason people watch Arsenal and Barcelona over Wigan and Bolton is because Arsenal and Barcelona know how to win games and trophies.

Do you think Arsenal fans are happier today than when they were winning trophies though 1-0 wars of attrition? Bould, Adams, Keown, Winterburn and Wright were as important as Bergkamp and Overmars.

If Barcelona merged with Stoke would they be "Tippy-Smacky" or "Smashy-Tappy"?

Thank God. The last thing we need is another manager in the PL that is better at winning football matches than Gerard.
