FC Bicycle Clip would beat us without getting out of second gear.

We'd start off by playing really well. Then the wheels would come off.

I want any other English team playing in Europe to lose, always have and always will. Just because they're playing against a foreign team doesn't suddenly mean i like them and want them to win.

The only team i didn't mind winning were Fulham, but even then i wanted them to lose the final.

Oh and Arsenal will get dicked at the Nou Camp.

Most probabe scenario, Arsenal getting steamrolled at the Nou Camp, but what a night for Arsenal fans though. Wenger took a huge gamble playing Nasri, Fabregas, Wilshere, Arshavin, Bendtner AND Van Persie towards the end. Paid off considerably and credit to them. Really great goals from Van Persie and Arshavin.

Their keeper (cant be bothered to spell the name as most Arse fans call him "Sneezy") and Koscielny were excellent. Oh, and Wilshere was better than Fabregas tonight. There I said it.

Barca were parking the bus second half and their complacency biting them in the arse in the end. No pun intended.

Did my ears deceive me or were Arse fans singing "we've got Wilshere". lol

One thing I am not looking forward to is the countless Arsenal vs Barca related talks and highlights that will invade our channels and newspapers starting from today.

Sheesh. Villa would have won this match 5 nil or something. Hehe

Based on that performance tonight, does anybody else think Arsenal might have too much for the Rags at Wembley?

Not so sure, The CC Final is the Sunday before the Nou Camp return game. I can see Wenger resting a few for the small heath game and Arsenal players having one eye on the 2nd leg. The timing plays into the hands of the rags

Fair play to Spuds, I cant get my head around some on here wanting them to lose to an Italian club

Then, you're frankly mad.

Then you're a small minded wanker if we're going to resort to petty insults

'Small-minded wanker' from the bloke that wants a team to lose... to fucking Spurs!!! ... just because they are foreign.

Out of interest, did you cheer for Blues during their Anglo-Italian glory days?

What's so wrong with fucking spurs?! Are they any more arrogant than us when we're winning? You prefer the Italian equivalent of Man utd do you? Seems to be fashionable to really hate spurs these days for some reason. Petty, small mindedness as I said. By the way If you dont like getting insults back then dont give them out in the first place

You didn't insult me, silly sausage. Read the quotes again, slowly.

Juventus are the Italian version of Man U, not AC Milan.

I have always disliked Spurs, not just 'these days'. The reason for wanting them to lose though wasn't hatred it was because it would obviously be bad for Villa, a point you have failed to respond to.

Small mindedness is hating somebody just because their foreign. I can 'get my head around' why you don't want an Italian team to win... I would assume it is because you are xenophobic. The fact that you are unable to get your head around why anybody wouldn't agree with you suggest limited mental capacity... 'small-minded' indeed.

For the record I don't particularly like AC Milan as they are crooked and their Chairman is a shit politician and a vile human being.

However, I wanted Spurs to lose to them. Just the same as I wanted Arsenal to lose tonight. They are our rivals. AC Milan and Barcelona are not. Do you think that if Pepsi announce record profits the Board of Directors of Coca-Cola will be saying "woo-hoo! An American company is doing well, great news!"?

I can only add patronising c*^t to the small minded wanker bit and I doubt whether face to face, you would adopt the same tone. My Nonna was Italian so no, I dont dislike them because I'm xenophobic. I dont particularly dislike them at all. I just dont grasp this ' Let's all hate spuds because they're doing better than us at the moment and it's not fair' bit and just because it's trendy I wont go along with it, neither will I accept you calling me ' mad '   because I hold a different point of view. OK?

My dislike for Spurs dates from the time Martin Chivers broke my heart when I was a nipper and anti-Tottenham sentiment has been a constant of posters on this site for as long as I've been using it.

Fucking horrible club.

I thought that Arsenals second goal was one of the best of the season's. Great team goal against one of the lauded best ever sides in the world.  Electric pace, sharp passing and a great finish.  Miles better than Rooneys shin-dig for me.  Looking forward to us beating Barca in a few years

First half Barcelona were superb.  Things that stood out for me were:

They can all control the ball and remain composed in possession under pressure, and will shield it and hold on to it if there isn't an outlet, which is rare because their movement off the ball is fantastic:

The timing of their runs to beat the offside, something players like Bent could work on a bit more.

And when they lose the ball they are brilliant at closing down quickly to force an error.

Arsenal did very well to come back after that first half, but Valdes shouldn't have been beaten at his near post.

That, in essence, is the "tika-taka "style and they've been coached in it since they were knee high to a Bannan. It's football from another planet with the current Barcelona side. The chance that Messi missed in the first half all came about from a fantastic lay off by him from a ball that was fired in but he cushioned it just so for Villa to put him through.
