After seeing the ManU incident for the first time it was a shocking decision in the end. The linesman was right and the ref was wrong. The linesman actually just caves in. You can actually see him say what about the handball and Clattenberg says forget it. The statement from the refs spokesman where he says he was trying to keep the play flowing in the spirit of the game was toss. And I suspect Ferdinand was reminding them they won't get their bonus if they don't give it. As I mentioned when the ref decided not to give Neville a second yellow last week, it's not just Rooney who has signed a new bumper contract with Fergie, the officials have as well. The only plus point of the affair was it was against Spurs.
It certainly looked like he was about to blow and decided the ball was in the keepers hands and plays advantage. What advantage was there?
As soon as a player is in possession of the ball and is free to continue play however he likes is gaining the advantage given. (I think that's how refs see it)He could have sent Spurs on a quick counter attack, seeing as they were one-nil down and there were 5 minutes left you'd think he'd be grateful for that.

Has anyone seen Clattenberg give the play on signal (two arms in the air forward)? I think I saw him shrug. No wonder Gomes was confused.
