Aston Villa coach (their only one) Steve Walford has just returned from a three month study of European coaching methods.
Steve spent time in Barcelona, Turin and at the famous footballing academy of Sporting Clube de Portugal, a club that have produced such home grown stars as Figo, Rui Costa and Cristiano Ronaldo.

When asked if he was to adopt any of the methods of the foreign coaches, Steve replied "Since I've returned to England, the first thing I did was to throw away all my socks".

He was outside the entrance of the Bescot on tuesday signing autographs before the game.

Pen in one hand, fag in the other!

For those folks that have actually been to some of the pre-season friendlies:

Have the team lined up in anything other than a 442 so far.  Just wondering whether we can look forward to seeing some different tactics this season.

Before people use this question as an excuse to deride MON some more, I'm pretty sure he played 352 at Leicester and we played 433 for spell a while back so it is possible that he could change...

He played a sort of 4-4-1-1 against Peterborough. Finished the game against Walsall with the same formation too. I don't think we can read too much into it though. I can't see him changing his ways.

Yep, Rossi hat trick. Would be an excellent signing for us I think, a better option than Robbie Keane

And Chelsea turned over 5-1 by the European powerhouse, Wycombe Wanderers.

That's a bit out of order if you ask me and not very funny. Still each to his own.

That pic has been doing the rounds on the internet for the last 10 years. Its considered meme now.

Come on, Salifou is doing a good job of replicating that image.
Yes, I'm a very naughty man etc...
