Let davies go in part ex for keane and try and flog them shorey as well, harry wanted him at Pompey before we pipped him to it.

Didn't we want that full-back he signed from Sheffield United? Some young lad that made so much of an impression I can't remember his name? Swap him for Shorey instead and let him learn his trade with some better defenders.

you get the feeling Citeh are doing a liverpool and waiting for milner to demand a move.  We should at least send a letter of complaint of tapping up to the FA. Clubs have been done for far less.

Jol has said he's staying at Ajax so that leaves sidders in limbo As well.

He's staying but not through choice it seems.

Fulham Statement:

Quote
On Thursday morning, following talks with Ajax, the Club can confirm that it has ceased negotiations for the release of Martin Jol from his contract with the Dutch Club.

Although Fulham had agreed personal terms with Martin Jol, Ajax were not willing to allow him to leave under any circumstances, and have held him to the terms of the contract he signed last summer.

When Fulham commenced negotiations with Martin Jol, the Club was informed that an exit clause existed in his contract with Ajax. Subsequent negotiations revealed that the clause was no longer valid and Ajax position remained steadfast in their desire to keep their manager, therefore dialogue between the two clubs has now ended.

Isn't that tapping up?

I think they were given permission to talk to him.

And then changed their minds. How odd. Something fishy in all this.

Eden Hazzard and Carlton Cole.

Both gettable, and both would improve the two areas that need strengthening.
Carlton cole , no way! I remember his year here and don't ever want to see him in a villa shirt again.

Aston Villa are the favourites to land Manchester City star Stephen Ireland as Martin O’neill’s pursuit of West Ham star Scott Parker has hit a stumbling block.

West Ham  co-owner David Sullivan is reluctant to sell Parker and will only entertain big money offers for the England international, with O’Neill ready to turn his attentions to City star Ireland. The former Republic of Ireland international is also interesting Sunderland while Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United are also thought to be monitoring the situation and have been cut as second in line for the playmaker’s signature by sports bookmakers.

Ireland has become increasingly marginalised in the Manchester City squad with Roberto Mancini preferring the likes of Patrick Vieira, Nigel De Jong, and Gareth Barry to the creative Ireland. The Irishman has voiced his frustrations to the club’s football administrator Brian Marwood along with Roque Santa Cruz, Craig Bellamy and Shaun Wright Phillips.

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce admitted last week that he was interested in signing Ireland, however the Balck Cats manager admitted that the player’s wages could be an issue, with Aston Villa now favourites the land the playmaker.

Ireland emerged as a  home grown fan favourite for the Citizens after being voted the club’s player of the year in the 2008 / 2009 season after a string of impressive performances. As a result he was handed a five year deal in the summer of 2009.

SKY BET ODDS – STEPHEN IRELAND’S NEXT CLUB

ASTON VILLA – 11/4

MANCHESTER UNITED – 7/2

LIVERPOOL – 4/1

ARSENAL – 4/1

SUNDERLAND – 4/1

Not enough to play for us- no!Doesn't score enough goals and injury prone - dearer version of heskey, I'd be horrified if that was the kind of player we bought!

Even if Man City no longer had an interest in signing Milner, they'll happily keep the story running as (a) it unsettles the player and (b) forces MoN to have a plan A and a plan B. And that, for our Martin, is a scary thought.

Given that Plan 'A' usually kicks in at 5 to midnight on deadline day, it doesn't leave much in the way of breathing room for Plan 'B' to kick in, does it?

Let me start by saying that when MON became our manager that he was definetly the right man for the club at that time, but right now I am not so sure!

I think that we now need to decide what to do with Milner either accept the bid or not, I am getting so fed up of will he, wont he,  have we not got a Manager who can make a decision instead of this constant dithering during each transfer window.

For all his faults, MON has a way of dealing in the transfer market and if like last summer, he gets the right people in, it's not really a problem. Frustrating, yes but no real problem. I'd imagine he's also put a deadline down to City, probably the end of the month, regarding Milner. Their only offer to date is £18m + £2m add-ons. I'm sure nobody on here thinks he should accept it and they'd be right.

Think positive. Jol will be available next summer.
