I Certainly would have faith that keane would score 15 to 20 goals each season he Is here, he is a good finisher and would quickly establish himself in the team on a regular basis , gabby would learn a vast amount from playing with keane as would fonzie!

Did Ireland play on the right as well as in the middle  when Hughes was in charge?

Keane's a good finisher, but as he drops off and links play a lot, he doesn't get in the box enough to regularly hit that sort of number.  I'd be expecting 15 max, but some of those in the tight games where we normally don't score right now and also the other players goal tallies to increase.

If Keane comes it'll be ten years too late.

(but that's not the fault of MON)

I think Keane has scored more than 15 goals in a season 6 or 7 times in the last 8 years.

Overall he has, but not in the league he aint. Carew and Gabby are 15 goal a season strikers by that rationale so why bother with someone no better?

Keane would be good as hopefully it'll mean we'll try and score goals other than by crossing the ball in.

we either have to get the midfield contributing more goals or sign a forward who can get in the high teens league wise. can't see the likes of petrov or young blasting in double figures so thats why we need a real goal poacher so desperately

I wasnt aware anybody was talking league goals only. They all count.
And if he scores a similar amount to Gabby and Carew that's fine. Although I would prefer a £30m goal machine, obviously.

Why bother? Because its significantly more than Heskey provides and his link up play is better than what we have up front. He's a different option.

just think Heskey shouldn't come into it. Most forwards would contribute more than Heskey but we need someone who will contribute more than Carew or Gabby. Heskey has gone. Totally. He's not just useless at scoring now, he's just useless

There have been a few of these "Player X has been offered to Club Y" stories this summer so far. Not really noticed them before.

Is this the new way for agents to tout their players?

There's an old abandoned warehouse in Marakesh. Players have to walk up and down a catwalk kicking a ball and doing the odd sexy flounce whilst managers and CEOs hide in tinted boxes, bidding for them on electronic panels. The players are then delivered to their new employers Yacht. Sedated for the journey home.

Although I agree about Petrov, and in the position he plays you wouldn't expect many goals anyway, Young bagged 8 in the league in both 07/08 and 08/09, although only 5 last term, so it's not inconceivable that he could get double figures.
