Keane is shite, that's why spurs don't want him.

If we get him it's just more wasted money on people with no sell on value.

Yes but didn't keane score around 14 in 17 games? Can't see emile scoring 14 in 170 games even in Scotland!

Ps - does keano owe you money or sommat Greg, you certainly have a bee in your bonnet over him?

i'm sure he's a very nice person . Way i see it, he's been out of form for two seasons and he's 30.  Now IF MON can get him back to something approaching his form of 5 years ago when he managed his best evoh league goals total of 16 then he might just sneak us into a CL place. I have major doubts he'll get that total and even if he does he's then got maybe two seasons left in him, which means looking around for another replacement sooner rather than later and another 10 million or so. not really building a team imo, just stop-gaps.

What's the obsession with sell on value? If a player improves the team then you will recoup his value anyway, I couldn't give a toss about sell on value!

Some players have a sell on value some don't, so where would Paul mcgrath have been had we thought he didn't have a sell on value?

You need a mixture of youth and experience and in general it's the younger players that attract more or a sell on value, but my concern is what happens on the pitch and I'd be delighted with robbie keane.

Career wise (in hindsight), the worst thing he ever did was go to Liverpool. He looked poor for them, he did'nt seem wanted there anyway, and he's not quite been the same since.

16 goals for Celtic (albeit in a inferior league) might suggest he's got some of his confidence back. If it's £6m, i reckon it would be a gamble worth taking.

Maybe, but i'm guessing levy will screw a bit more out of us than 6m

Quite possibly. It may have been one of the reasons they sent him out on loan in the first place, knowing they were willing to let him go eventually, and hoping he'd score a fair few in Scotland to keep his price up.

Having heard we are 2-0 down at Basingstoke with shorey, cuellar, davies and young in defence now I'm
beginning to worry.

Come on randy , let's get that chequebook open!

I've heard that Eduardo has signed for Shaktar Donesk in a €7 million deal.  Think he could have done a good job for us and if the quoted price is true, would have been a great bit of business.

Meaningless work out in the sun, like a training match. Don't read anything into games like this, it was all tippy tappy football and a hotch potch of reserve team young 'uns and a few senior players easing their way back in...

If he was the sort of player that would have made a significant difference to us I think he'd be going to a better club than Shaktar Donesk.
