I just got a Garmin Fenix 6.  I think it has everything on it you mention, plus a whole lot more.  The only slight annoyance so far is the bluetooth occasionally dropping out, so my headphones disconnect.

Firstly congrats on number 5 you fertile old thing you.

Yes my 6 does the same and it's bloody annoying, also the altimeters are made from chocolate, in 12 months time I'll bet you'll be making a warranty claim for a replacement. BTW Garmin customer service & warranty replacement is faultless.

Cheers mate!

Do you still take your phone out with you as well Jon?  I was wondering if the problem was some sort of Bluetooth overload?

I take my phone with me as I often run in isolated spots even close to home, any issues with syncing watch to phone or is it just the BT headphones dropping out? Garmin are excellent, if you raise a ticket I bet that alone will be enough to get you a new watch.

The watch syncs fine with my phone, just drops out on my bluetooth headphones.  Just does it randomly, which is a massive faff, as it's not straightforward to reconnect, and would mean stopping to do it, so I've then had to run with no music which is a bit dull.

While approaching the Wolverhampton Ring Road this morning I was paying too much attention to looking for a gap in the traffic and not enough to the fact that I was heading full pelt for the traffic light. Caught the pelican control box right in the ribcage, cracking bruise developing.

Ouch Richard. Hope you haven't cracked any ribs.

I used to have the habit of tripping on things or hitting them when running in the City, so decided I was better off on country roads or trails.

Thanks. It's still a bit tender but don't think I have done myself any serious damage.

Ouch mate!  Hope it's nowt serious.  My worst running accident was back in the Isle of Man.  Planted my foot in a pot hole in the road around Ramsey where we lived, fell and twisted awkwardly, which led to a ruptured disc in my back, and not walking for three months.

Cheers! Could still feel my ribs when I went out for a run last night so will take it steady over Christmas.

The only other accident I have had while running of any significance, and which none of my family ever allow me to forget, is when I ran up a dark gulley leading to our road one night and tripped over, of all things, a deflated, abandoned bouncy castle. Ripped the skin off both kneecaps!

Hope you’re fully recovering Richard.

206 runs last year - 1191k covered.

1 run this year - 6k done.

Feels like a long slog when you look at it in years!

First run of 2021 done yesterday, thought I'd set a benchmark with a 2.4 km (1.5 mile) sprint after a 1km warm up & see where we are in a month. 11 minutes 1 second to beat!

Agggh having to self isolate as a friend I met has caught it so not outdoor running for me until next weekend. Time to do some replacement strength and conditioning exercises to help with my appalling lack of balance.

On the point above looking back at last year I did 101 runs and covered 965km, weight decreased 2 and a half stone and ended up with a 5K PB  of 22:18. Plenty to go at for 2021 if we can get out and race. Hoping to make further inroads into that PB and aim for the 20min barrier, lets see.... it'll take some serious training and a bit more weight loss.

I'll have to check the disctance I covered, but I lost 4 and a half stone, and got my PB for the 5K down to 25:41. Want to lose another stone and a half and get down towards the 22-23 minute mark.
