Of course Joe Buck would use that line.  What a tit.

Of course Joe Buck would use that line.  What a tit.

Sensibly, Jon Miller steered clear of using "TGWTP... TGWTP" on the Giants radio broadcast.

I don't mind Joe Buck, its McCarver that I can't stand (he's almost as bad as Joe Morgan). However, would Joe be so high profile if his dad wasn't one of the all time greats ?

World Series starts tonight

Who's ya got ?

Which will be most effective, the Giants' pitching lead by "The Freak" or the Rangers' hitting lead by "The Junkie" ?

I'll say, Texas in 6 games

I'll go Giants in 6.

The freak to pitch a no hitter in his second game of the series.

I think it'll go to 7 games... can't pick a winner though.

Wow, with Freak against Cliff, I wasn't expecting a slugfest

More after I've watched the game

2 zip San Fran

Great pitching from both starters but then a total meltdown by the Texas bullpen.

Series moves to Arlington on Saturday with the Rangers in a deep hole

3 - 1 Giants.

Yesterday was not a good day for the sports fans of North Texas

Rangers appear to struggling much more than I thought against the Giants. Lets see if they can get it together for a do or die match tonight.

Interesting feature on Sky News earlier comparing the US Mid Term elections to the World Series. SF being the bastion of liberal America and Texas being a hotbed of right wing nuttery (not that a Murdoch channel put it in those words)

Shame that he never got to pitch to Chuck Knoblauch

Well done to The Freak and the rest of the team in winning their first title since 1954 and their first ever whilst based in San Fran

Well done Giants on their first World Series since moving to San Francisco. I must say I don't think too many people would of expected this to happen back in August when they were behind in the National League wildcard chase with San Diego cruising in their division.

Oh well, another great season in the MLB... roll on the 2011 season...

A sad start to the "hot-stove" season

Sparky Anderson dead at 76

Managed both the Detroit Tigers and Cincinnati Reds (the "Big Red Machine" team of Pete Rose, Joe Morgan and Johnny Bench) to World Series titles.
