Some more piss-poor umpiring decisions (for both sides) in game 5 Angels/Yankies last night then?

The Halos hang on to take it back to New York for game 6. I fear they are just postponing the enevitable though.

Anyone else of the opinion that the umpiring has been pretty dire in some of the post season games?

The Highlanders finally saw off the Angels last night to set up a World Series against the Phillies.

C'mon Philadelphia !!

For over $1billion, you'd have thought the builders of the new Death Star would have used decent concrete !!

I don't think you want to go tit for tat with a yankee stadium vs. fenway convo.

It seems that concrete problems in new stadiums are common.

I was at Comerica in Detroit just a few weeks after the ballpark opened and there was crumbling concrete in several places.

World Series starts tonight (weather permitting)

So, who's ya got ?

If Cliff Lee can best CC tonight then I wouldn't be surprised to see the Phillies win. However, I've got a horrible feeling that the Highlanders will take the series

it's actually because it is cheaper to make concrete with a larger air to solid ratio.

They use less actual concrete, and it is lighter to ship.  So concrete being used now will not last as long as cncrete used 25 years ago, or 50 years ago even.

I read a big article about it a year or so ago.

I wonder if when Joe Girardi decided to use almost every pitcher in the bulllpen in an already ut of reach game if someone tapped him on the shoulder and said "hey Joe, you know we play tomorrow too, right?"

The guy is horrible.

Even with all the wins, we would have more with pretty much any other manager.

On the other side, why did Lee go the full nine when the Phillies could have sent anyone out there (even Brad Lidge) for the 9th and still won.

As an aside, I once assisted in the stalking of Joe Girardi whilst he was playing for the Cubs.

A mate's girlfriend had a major crush on Girardi. We were in San Francisco for a Cubs @ Giants game and staked out the team hotel until we got Joe to have his photo taken with her.

HAHA

I once went to a wedding and their was a guy who looked like George Steinbrenner (it wasn't him, but he LOOKED just like him).

My friend and I followed him around all night and kept bothering him to take pictures with us.
He played along at first.

But two hours later  the booze was flowing and on pictures 22, 23, 24 etc he started to get annoyed.

My wife was also a little annoyed.

But man, I got some great pictures.

You got to understand!!! HE LOOKED JUST LIKE GEORGE STEINBRENNER!!!

(some of the pics are on my facebook if anyone wants to see)

It looks like pmarachi's Highlanders are heading towards the title.

It doesn't look like even A-Rod can balls this up now
