It looks like pmarachi's Highlanders are heading towards the title.

It doesn't look like even A-Rod can balls this up now

I mean seriously, when are people going to realize how good arod is and stop this stuff?

How much more "clutch" do you have to be than this guy has been in this potseason?

Keep in mind, the series is not over.  Cliff Lee is a killer, and then you just need two more.

Oh, I will be away for work in Orlando FL for the next week, so if the Yankees fall apart and blow it, that's why I won't be posting about it.

What "stuff"?

I know full well that A-Rod was having a great postseason. However, he (according to ESPNRadio) then became the first player ever to strike out three times in each of the first three games of the World Series.

BTW, I'm a big A-Rod fan back from his days in Seattle (I have the replica jersey to prove it) and would have be very pleased if he had joined the Red Sox (as he wanted to do before the Players' Union vetoed the deal).

He also seems more relaxed and not so image conscious now that his drug use is out in the open. He doesn't have to worry about appearances now and can concentrate on crushing the ball like he did for the Mariners.

Why so jumpy ?

My single contribution to this thread will be "Could we rename it to 'Baseball'"? That would make my decade.

Oh, I know you're and arod fan, you have told me in the past.

I thought you were saying it in a mocking tone toward all those supposed Yankee fans that for some reason booed him for the last few years.

That's what I meant.

It drives me nuts when Yankee fans trash the guy.  I mean even after the WS, I heard people saying things like "yeah, well lets see what he does next year" and "Well, his season avg wasn't that good"

I just don't get it?
Why won't these fans just support him?!?

BTW, thanks for the congrats!

Red Sox sign Shortstop Marco Scutaro

Great news. Scutaro has been one of my favourite players since he was featured in the 2001 documentary about the Minor Leagues, "A Player to be Named Later".

Dustin Pedroia will now not be asked to switch from Second Base to Shortstop

I like Scutaro

The Phillies signed Polanco

And the rumor is the Mets asked for info on Matsui.  Nt sure why they would though...

The way the Mets are run, they'll probably sign "Kaz" rather than "Hideki" !!

No doubt you're all paying close attention to the off season baseball moves but just in case there's a few who aren't, here's a summary

Completed Trade
Curtis Granderson - Tigers to Yankees
Edwin Jackson - Tigers to D'Backs
Ian Kennedy - Yankees to D'Backs
Prospects - Yankees & D'Backs to Tigers

Expected Trade (EDIT - Cancelled due to Lowell being injured)
Mike Lowell - Red Sox to Rangers
Max Ramirez - Rangers to Red Sox

Expected Trade (this is the biggy!!) (EDIT - Now Confirmed)
Roy Halladay - Blue Jays to Phillies
Cliff Lee - Phillies to Mariners
Prospects - Phillies & Mariners to Blue Jays

The first time ever that two Cy Young Award winners (ie Halladay and Lee) have in effect been traded for each other.

Expected Free Agent Signings
John Lackey - Angels to Red Sox (EDIT - Now Confirmed)
Hideki Matsui - Yankees to Angels (EDIT - Now Confirmed)
Mike Cameron - Brewers to Red Sox (EDIT - Now Confirmed)

Still in Limbo
Jason Bay
Matt Holliday

Randy "The Big Unit" Johnson retires after a 22 year career.

Not a cuddly personality but a sure-fire first ballot Hall of Famer

How hard did the Unit throw ?

Well, just ask this dove !!

Matt Holliday re-signs with the Cardinals for 7 years and $120m. Now they have to work on a contract extension for Albert Pujols.
