I love extra inning West Coast games. Just got to watch last couple of innings of the Dodgers "walk off" win over the Rockies

F$% off

Anyhow, Sox won last night and are still 2.5 games ahead of the Highlanders (even after the latter's 7 game winning streak).

I head for London this afternoon, then tomorrow its off to Boston for 10 games at the greatest ballpark of them all

Altogether now ... "Youuuuuuuuuuk" !!

While you are at that little stadium with the rest of Arayn Nation, I will be sitting comfortably in a luxury box (first time ever in a luxury box, so I will take pictures), with a Pina Colada, in the air condition.

I hear it's supposed to be 86 degrees...

Lester's going for the Sox this afternoon, so there's a good chance that they'll avoid a sweep by the Mariners.

EDIT - And so they did. Although it had more to do with a meltdown form the Mariners ballpen than Lester

"By far the greatest ballpark the world has ever seen......."

Monday saw the first game back at Fenway Park for Nomar "Mr Mia Hamm" Garciaparra since he was traded during the 2004 season (ie prior to the Sox winning the World Series].

Nomar received a standing ovation before his first plate appearance. It was far different to the response that Roger "The Rocket" Clemons received when he first came back to Boston with the Blue Jays in 1997 (a game which I was also at).

"Nomahhhhhhh"

you only say that because you haven't been to the new Yankee stadium.

I'm telling you, leave Arayn Nation for a day and come to the dark side...

I've just been watching the highlights of Jonathan Sanchez's no-hitter for the Giants last night.

Very impressive, especially considering he wouldn't even be in the rotation if the Unit wasn't injured.

ESPN America, which was part of the Setanta pack is now being included in the Sky channel packs.

Therefore, in the UK, head over to Channel 417 for your baseball fix !!

unfortunately only until 3rd august when their coverage gets shunted to the new channel which has the premier league rights so you'll have to fork out £9/month but you will get the odd footy game, baseball and college football. I'm definitely tempted but loving the free baseball
on sky in the intervening period. Nice move
by espn to promote their stuff.

All-Star game tonight. Watched the HR Derby yeaterday and the old gits/celeb game. Billy Bob Thornton played like he was 80, those nights with Angelina must have taken it out of him.

Nelly looked like he knew what he was doing though

Plus there was the sexiest sight ever on a baseball field .......

As for the rest of the festivities.....

Home Run Derby (that's "Der-by" not "Dar-by") - Definitely a let down after last year's spectacular performance by Josh Hamilton (even though he didn't win). Good to see that the contest was won this time by Prince "World's Fattest Vegetarian" Fielder.

There were a couple of good shots by Albert, but Mr Puggles wasn't that impressive. As for Brandon Inge...... luckily he had a sense of humour about his complete failure to hit a single homer.

All Star Game - I've only watched a few highlights so far but I see that Pap got the Win, Mariano the Save and Albert committed an Error.
