Nope, skipped the games this year.

I went to the Sox v Highlanders games in 2019, but didn’t think the West Ham council House worked as a baseball venue. Hopefully they tweaked the layout this time.

The ticket prices were a bit OTT. One seat I looked at was ten times the price that I pay for a similar spot stateside.

Also, hotel prices in that there London were ridiculous.

Fair enough.  Looked like a good weekend and they did push the outfield back a little and the scoring was kept in check, but still good enough to keep the locals and visitors entertained.

I went on the Saturday, very enjoyable for someone like me who loves the game but has never been to the States and never will now.  One sided the Cubs were always in the driving seat.

During my morning exercise bike time, I watch the previous days MLB highlights.

A full schedule of games clocks in at about 50 minutes. This morning I was running a bit late so dropped a game. I saw that the Highlanders had won by a big score, so didn’t bother watching  ::)

Never crossed my mind that it was a perfecto.

90 years ago today, the first MLB All-Star Game took place at Chicago’s Comiskey Park.

Play off brackets are set.

AL

Baltimore v Tampa Bay/Texas
Houston v Minnesota/Toronto

NL

Atlanta v Philadelphia/Miami
Los Angeles v Milwaukee/Arizona

No Yankees, which is nice. The flaws of the playoff format are plain to see in the AL bracket as the two best teams could be playing each other in the DS, while all the teams on the other side have 90 wins or fewer. Not sure how you rectify that without dismantling the divisional system.

I fancy Houston to take advantage and get to another WS. Atlanta and LA look too strong for their prospective DS opponents in the NL but I thought that last year too.

I'd quite the Orioles to win it.

Outside of Fenway (62 games), OP@CY is the ballpark at which I've attended the most games (20).

I've also been to 20 games at Yankee Stadium, but that's split between two ballparks

Difficult to do away with quirks like BAL facing (probably) TB too early, without taking away the credit teams deserve for winning their division
