Adrian Beltre, Joe Mauer and Todd Helton elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Beltre was a cert, but 4.9% of voters still decided to leave him off their ballots. Probably due to the ongoing stupid notion that some voters have that no-one should be unanimous

Pirates 4-0 to start the loooooong season.  So I won't be getting too excited just yet.

The Red Sox have a rare trip to Pittsburgh later in the month - of course, I will be in Florida.

Last time they were here I went to all 3 games and it was excellent.

I sometimes plan my trips around seeing the Sox in Pittsburgh.

One game I attended was a celebration of the 1903 World Series.
The screens and loudspeakers were turned off.
All announcements were made by a bloke with a megaphone
