My first post on the NFL thread so be nice!

My predictions for next season...

AFC East - Patriots (yawn).
AFC North - Browns. By sacrificing about seventy draft picks they have put all their eggs in one basket and have to do something this year. I think they will.
AFC South - Colts (yawn).
AFC West - Chargers (possibly even more predictable than Patriots/Colts)
AFC Wildcards-
1 Steelers
2 Titans

NFC East - Redskins
NFC North (the only division that really matters) - DA BEARS!!! - I am putting heart above head and backing my Bears even though they can't pass, catch, block or run and the D's not what it used to be! I am hoping that Favregate will fuck up the Fudge Packers and the Purple Penis Eaters will flatter to deceive as usual.
NFC South - Bucs
NFC West - Seahawks
NFC Wildcards -
1 Cowboys
2 Giants (NFC East is by miles the strongest divison in the league)

Superbowl -

Colts 33 Giants 17. - Giants to scrape a play-off place then make it to the Superbowl defying all expectations again. Peyton to win the Battle of the Mannings. He's destined to get more than one SB ring.

Anyway, just my predictions, probably all bollocks, but make's a change from banging on about Bloody Barry!

Edit: its not my first post on here after all! Was reading through and I was here before on about the Wembley game. Must be the senility kicking in!

I'm just wondering at the moment whether the Brett Favre saga is more desperately mind-numbingly boring than the Gareth Barry saga.[/quote]

It is almost that bad although the Barry crap hits home more because it involves my team.
I need to stay away from the internet and from sports radio for a while so that I can restore some sanity to my life.

Keep coughing Buddy. Your Packers (and you are welcome to them, despite the fact that you must have at least a small amount of sense given that you are a Villa fan), will be lucky to record a record of 8-8.

I really hope they pay Favre tons of money to not play for someone else, as I want his record of most interceptions to be all with one sad little team from Wisconsin.

As a matter of wondering, is anyone going to the Chargers v Saints game at Wembley in October?

I have tickets in block 511, row 16. Right at the back but the cheapest tickets!

I thought that was fantastic personally.

Oi CT your loyalty to Dallas is admirable... amusing but admirable  :smt002

But I must say... my Redskins future is questionable since Mr. Gibbs has decided to retire. Looks like you'll get to be smug again... THIS year. :-P

Packers trade Favre to the NY Jets

The Manny saga's sorted
The Ronaldo saga's sorted
Now the Favre saga's sorted

That just leaves.............. Mr Barry !!

For me at least it was a great relief. Someone suggested to me that the Bears were interested in him the other day. I do not want the person with the most ever interceptions playing for my Bears, even if it does mean Mr Grossman being our number 1 quarterback for another season.

Spectacular bit of bias there. He might be old, but Favre is a Hall of Fame QB< where Grossman is a frigging liability.

Of course it is biased, I hate all things Green Bay and Brett Favre related. If he had of moved to the Bears, it would have been the equivalent of B-Lose selling Trevor Francis to the Villa instead of Notts Forest for 1M quid.

I will assume you do not know about the rivalry. If he had of moved to the Bears, it would have been the equivalent of B-Lose selling Trevor Francis to the Villa instead of Notts Forest for 1M quid.

I am aware, but the fact that:

Favre = Very good
Grossman = Shit

would have made it a good idea.

If Favre was at QB for the Bears the other year, they might have won the Superbowl.

Grossman is hardly shit. Painfully inconsistent is a far better way to describe him in my opinion.

Selective memory probably has you forgetting the fact that he was the QB for the Florida Gators in two championship games, and was the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy. In his first full season he was QB when the Bears won the NFC championship with the most points in the league. Did you also forget that he led the Bears to the Super Bowl. I would struggle to name another shit QB who has done the same.

And I still hate Brett Favre.

I liked the letter on the Bears' official site that said the Bears should sign Favre and then switch Urlacher to wide receiver seeing as Favre is so good at throwing the ball to him!

Seriously though, the Jets? They really are shite. Still, at least he will be able to see one decent footballer at the stadium... Juan Pablo Angel.
